MERLION exhibition stand demonstrated models for creation of security systems based on solutions of the world’s top IT-manufacturers.
MIPS international specialized exhibition has been held from April 14 to 17 in Moscow. MERLION, which successfully entered the security systems market in 2013, participated in the exhibition as an exhibitor for the first time. The company demonstrated a model of complex solution including the whole range of equipment and software for implementation of security systems from the very beginning. Experts from MERLION Engineering Technical Center advised the guests on selection, compatibility, installation and service maintenance of the offered equipment.
The solution presented at the company stand is designated for design of video surveillance systems based on state-of-the-art IT infrastructure both from a single manufacturer (demonstrated by the example of НР equipment), and several different manufacturers (equipment rack from Alcatel-Lucent, Fluke Networks, IBM, Lenovo, Molex PN). Stand visitors were also familiarized with network hardware information protection of video surveillance systems by the example of Fortinet gateway. Guests were mostly interested in experimental platform in MERLION office, which demonstrated video surveillance system in action virtualized on VMware platform. It has been also noted that distributor’s portfolio included a wide range of software products designated for video surveillance and analysis systems from iTV/Axxon Soft Company – Intellect and Next software products. All that convinced exhibition participants that MERLION not only is able to provide individual products (from connector and cable to server), but also can build a full-scale protected security system, not limited merely to cameras and video recorders.
Security systems market is changing rapidly, and we can currently follow its swift convergence with IT solutions market. We believe that the development trend lies right in improvement of video analytic algorithms and analytical software, as well as massive change-over to using of IP video cameras of MERLION. As a leader in IT distribution market, the company added professional IP cameras and specialized software to its solution portfolio and currently can offer its partners a comprehensive approach to information and physical security provision.

All four days of exhibition were very action-packed – representatives of MERLION and leading IT- manufacturers have held personal meetings with guests of the stand making presentations.
Yulia Pechnikova, Director of VAD Business Development Department of MERLION, presented a report “MERLION – Distribution of Complex Solutions from World’s Top Manufacturers” dedicated to advanced security technologies, global trends and MERLION experience. Ivan Timofeev, HP Autonomy Division Director of Hewlett-Packard spoke next. He appealed to the audience: “Use your current assets 100%: video and audio analytics as part of unstructured Big Data management system”. Sergey Goryunov, Technical Support Manager of Molex PN told about MIIM – advanced network composition monitoring system. Alexander Kiselyov, CEO of CMO, presented his company and described all advantages and values of data racks and closets produced under CMO trade mark. MERLION representative demonstrated security solutions for virtual environments, as well as security solutions based on equipment manufactured by APC, Fortinet, HP, Lenovo, Samsung.
HP EG presentation was made by Ilya Semukhin, Server Product Manager of Hewlett-Packard. MERLION representative demonstrated the “Solutions on building up a high-reliability network infrastructure for video surveillance systems and DPC based on Alcatel-Lucent equipment”. Maxim Uvarov, Partner Relationship Manager of Fluke Networks, described in detail solutions for network deployment, network performance management and troubleshooting, as well as for performance and network security monitoring. Aleksey Sergeev, Technical Marketing Engineer of Intel, invited partners to “New business segments together with Intel”. Nikolay Karimskiy, Partner Relationship Manager of ITV/Axxon, told about next-generation video surveillance systems based on open platform. In his presentation “Axxon Next – Functionality and Specifics” he stressed that video surveillance system based on Axxon Next is easily scalable and may support an unlimited number of servers, operator workplaces and video cameras, that Axxon Next supports over 1000 models of IP cameras allowing to work via mobile devices and web interface. User-friendly interface provides the ease of operation and high efficiency of work process.
