MERLION Takes No. 57 in RBC’s “Top 500 Largest Russian Companies”

RosBusinessConsulting (RBC) Magazine published its 3rd rating of “500 largest companies in Russia” (RBC 500). For a year, the company has moved up by 4 ranks and now holds 57th place in the rating.

The basic criterion to rank companies within the rating system is net profit (excluding VAT, excise taxes and export duties). This year the minimum requirement for net profit to enter RBC 500 is 17.4 bln rubles that is 7.2 % higher than the requirement for the previous year.

RCB 500 rating shows that in 2016 largest Russian companies increased their incomes 3 times slower than in the previous year. According to RBC, “in 2016, the total revenue of 500 largest companies in Russia increased up to 66.3 trillion rubles, but the rates of the growth were slower than those registered the year before. That year the consolidated revenues increased by 13.6 %, now – by 4.2 % only. Furthermore, some companies left RBC 500. The organic revenue growth showing only the performance of companies included in the previous year rating, is 5 % in comparison to 15.1 % the year before”.
