ASUSTeK and MERLION have found true treasures

The companies ASUSTeK and MERLION have summed up the “Searching for the true ASUSTeK treasures” marketing program and drew the main prize, - a C-class Mercedes Benz. As a result of the action, 100 dealers from Moscow and the regions obtained the status of ASUSTeK’s authorized partners.

At the end of August, the ASUSTeK company, the hi-tech market leader, and the MERLION company, a leading distributor of computer equipment and componentry, summed up a joint marketing program named "Searching for the true ASUSTeK treasures". The main prize was an opportunity to take part in the drawing of a C-class Mercedes Benz automobile.

The action took place during 2 months - from the 1st of June till the 31st of July - and was aimed to promote the ASUSTeK products: drives, mainboards (for AMD and Intel processors), videocards (on ATI and NVIDIA chipsets) and ASUSTeK server mainboards. According to the conditions of the action, on purchasing the ASUSTeK production, the dealers received points. In order to get the right to search for the main treasure - a drawing of the C-class Mercedes Benz automobile - one had to collect more than 400 points.

The purpose of carrying out the program was to increase the regional sales share of ASUSTeK production and to increase the share of the company's production on regional markets with respect to other producers.

Results of the program

As a result of the program being held, the share of ASUSTeK products in regional custom increased by a factor of one and a half. The custom volumes of ASUSTeK production in some kinds increased by 30% with respect to a respective period in the last year, taking into account the seasonal coefficient.

As a result of the program and the work realized in 2004, 100 of MERLION's partner companies obtained the status of ASUSTeK authorized partners.

More than 150 companies were taking part in the action, and 86 managed to get the necessary points; among them there were 21 companies from Moscow and 65 from the regions. The regional dealers' network was represented by cities of the Far East, Siberia, Ural, Southern and Central Russia, as well as of the CIS states - Belorussia and Georgia.

The main prize - the C-class Mercedes Benz - was won by a Moscow company FORCE Computers.

In addition, 10 best Moscow companies and 10 best regional dealers got prizes at the end of the action: ASUSTeK notebooks, a Philips television set, Canon and Panasonic video cameras, Canon and Minolta photo cameras, and others.

Peculiarity of the action

The "Searching for the true ASUSTeK treasures" action was the first large-scale one carried out by ASUSTeK and MERLION. The first-rate MERLION dealers' network was engaged to participate in the action. A joint action with a leading distributor allowed ASUSTeK to widen considerably the geography of its presence in the regions of Russia and to increase the share in regional sales. The main prize of the marketing action, a C-class Mercedes Benz, corresponds to the status and the image of ASUSTeK, the world leader in mainboard manufacturing.

History of the relationships

MERLION has been taking on ASUSTeK products' sales since its appearing on the Russian IT market. MERLION obtained the status of ASUSTeK's official distributor in 2001.
