MERLION CUP 2011 MERLION CUP’2011, the fifth and final qualification stage of Russian National Bowling Tournament for the company’s partners, was held in Kransodar, sponsored by Kingmax, a company holding a steady position among the world’s memory systems manufacturers.

First, the teams participated in a warm-up creativity contest that, by the newly-formed tradition, consisted in writing a verse about MERLION, Kingmax and Krasnodar.

The official part of the event comprised speeches by the event coordinators. Shirley Lin, Kingmax sales expert, reported on “Kingmax’ product solutions.” Alexander Platonov, MERLION business development manager, spoke on the topic of “New horizons with MERLION.”

Having visited the literary domain and charged with new information, the teams went on to test their strength at sports.

The participants received t-shirts with the sponsor’s logo (Kingmax), divided into teams and rushed to conquer the tournament tables with the traditional Kuban passion.

In the end, the best results were shown by the Strong Seashell (1397 points), which received a ticket to finals and a tournament pin. The Fifth Wheel finished a very close second with 1391 points. The leaders clashed in a regular titans’ battle, as their achievements proved highest among all regional finals winners. The third prize was taken by the Kuban Beermen (1228 points). The 1,000-point mark was crossed by another three Krasnodar teams: Baden Double (1114 points), Live Steel (1026) and Cherry in Cognac (1001). Their chances of success could as well have been realized, but for the strong opponents. Among the more modest achievers at the regional event were Four and the Marketing Manager (958) and Peoples’ Friendship (880).

All the while, the Strong Seashell was in luck big time that night. Apart from the first prize in the finals, the team also earned individual awards. The recognized best players in the male and female categories were Anton Dmitriyev (180 points) and Olga Severchuk (158 points).

Well, the Krasnodar Shell did show their strength. The team proved a hard nut, but will their finals opponents be able to crack it? The answer to this question is not far away.
