The “MERLION Constellation” has lighted more than a thousand of stars

The Russia’s largest broadline distributor holds a traditional pre-New Year meeting with its partners.

In the beginning of December, MERLION held a traditional pre-New Year meeting with its key partners. The event that took place in Space Moscow Club and was named this time the “MERLION Constellation” was attended by over a thousand of participants: the distributor’s lead managers, as well as representatives of world’s largest vendors, systems integrators, resellers and federal retail networks.

The event was supported by the following companies: ADATA, Acer, APC by Schneider Electric, Dell, D-Link, Eaton, Hitachi, Hewlett-Packard, Huawei, IBM, Intel, Kingston, LG, Microsoft, OCZ Storage Solutions, Oracle, Panasonic, Samsung, Seagate, SUPRA, Symantec, Veeam, and VMware.

The specific feature of MERLION’s annual pre-New Year meetings is asoft and friendly atmosphere that facilitates effective negotiations throughout the event. That is what most of the invited persons come for: here, Russian business representatives have a unique opportunity personally to meet not only their market peers, but also foreign top managers and heads of representative offices of world’s largest IT corporations.

The creative part of the evening was taken care of by the hosts Dmitry Khrustalev and Viktor Vasilyev, who, together with MERLION’s CEO Sergey Raskolov are probably the key feature of the distributor’s pre-New Year meetings.

In spite of the varied entertainment program (featuring a circus performance, well-known dancing and music groups, Semen Slepakov and the “Serebro” band), MERLION’s managers and partners had enough time to hold the planned meeting, discuss the results of the outgoing year and map out plans aimed at development of cooperation in 2015. Such continuous business communication that could not be interrupted by even a brightest show is induced by the increased volatility of the Russian market that requires managers to act quickly and adjust the tactics and strategy of development. Thus, Sergey Raskolov compared the pace of current changes in business world to the Formula 1 racing speed: “During a Grand Prix racing, a pit stop takes only several seconds, but it is already too much for the present-day business. At MERLION, we have learnt how to make pit stops on the go - while the business machine is rushing through the market at a furious pace, the logisticians deliver spare parts, the commercial staff take care of procurement, the financial department adjust cash flows, the marketing unit promote sales, and the analysts are running in front of the racing car and showing the direction”.

The event ended long after midnight, when all the official congratulations, including those transmitted in form of holograms on special displays, had been said. The participants of the “MERLION Constellation” noted that the technologies make it possible to raise the level of MERLION’s December meetings from year to year, while the highest professional competence of the participants and the growing mutual trust help everyone face the future with confidence.
