Project "Business for school"

The company MERLION supported the initiative of Microsoft corporation "New life of a computer" and within the frameworks of the program handed over 15 PC to Moscow school № 101 for deaf children.

The company MERLION, a leading Russian distributor of computer and digital facilities, took part in the action «Business for school”, organized by the Russian representative office of Microsoft, Russian national committee of the International trade chamber (NC ITC), company Rambler and magazine "Secret of a firm". The purpose of the program was to provide Russian schools with personal computers absolutely free of charge.

The action "Business for school" became a local advancement of the global program of Microsoft "New life of a computer". According to the terms of the program, primary and secondary educational institutions are granted with free licensed operational systems (OS) Microsoft® to use them on personal computers (PC) that have been presented.

The company MERLION supported the initiative of Microsoft and within the frameworks of the charity program "Business for school", handed over 15 personal computers to special boarding-school of general education № 101 for deaf and ear disabled children. Against the conditions of the program to hand over used stations, the company MERLION found the possibility to furnish a few classrooms with absolutely new systems.

Commenting on this decision, Nikolay Artemenko, director general of MERLION, noted the following: "One of the most important non-commercial objectives our company has is to provide the citizens in every region of the Russian Federation with quality IT-products thus increasing a whole level of computer competence of the Russians and raising the degree of high technologies penetration in our day-to-day life. Russian education is still financed on leftovers, including financing schools to equip them with modern machinery. We do care about the future of Russia and therefore we have readily supported the initiative of Microsoft. We are glad that we could do something for children, for whom the possibility of education per computer due to objective reasons is especially crucial ".

The handing over of the computers took place in late August before the start of a new school year. And on October 1 the representatives of the company MERLION (Nikolay Artemenko, director general, Vadim Yarotskiy, marketing director, Irina Shekhovtseva, PR-manager, Evgeniy Nikolaev, head of the Internet-communications department) arrived in school № 101 to congratulate the teachers personally on their professional holiday.

After a brief excursion around the school the representatives of MERLION enjoyed the pupils’ performance dedicated to the Teacher’s Day, and then had a cup of tea with a delicious cherry pie by MERLION.
