MERLION CUP’2010: First All-Russia Bowling Championship started in Krasnodar

New format of meetings of the leading Russian distributor, MERLION Company, started on the 12th of March in Krasnodar.

MERLION CUP’2010 On the 12th of March this year the First All-Russia Bowling Championship MERLION CUP’2010* started in Krasnodar. Championship is a new format of field meetings of MERLION Company with the partners. It is held the second in size cities of federal districts. The organizers are sure that the new format of the meetings will not only enable to considerably widen the circle of the forums’ participants but also will make communication with the partners more effective.

The first stage of Bowling Championship MERLION CUP’2010* was held on the 12th of March this year in the city of Krasnodar in bowling club “Seven stars”. AMD Company, manufacturer of microprocessors and flash memory devices was its General sponsor. Eight teams-representatives of the largest IT companies of the region took part in it.

In the official part of the championship participants had an opportunity to communicate with managers of MERLION Company and representatives of AMD Company. Konstantin Voron, engineer on AMD Company’s production introduction, made a presentation “To new peaks with AMD”, and so gave a tone of the further communication. Participants discussed competitive advantages and peculiarities of AMD production’s promotion and sales. Official part transferred to the most exciting component of the event, i.e. sporting stage of the MERLION bowling championship.

Two rounds of the competition determined an unconditional winner, which will represent AMD and Krasnodar in the following stage of the contest. Team “Pozitronika-Kuban” won the first stage and with the result of 1057 points it has reached superfinal MERLION CUP’2010, which will be held in November 2010 in Moscow.

In individual contests the following persons has become the best:

  • Mikhail Kiyanov had the best result among men (165 points).
  • Olga Matveeva had the best result among women (147 points).
  • Mikhail Kiyanov had the biggest number of strikes (7 strikes in two games).

It is of an interest that all three nominations were retained by the company which had won the team contest.

According to the decision of Organizational Committee of the competition the prizes were given not only for the best results but also in some original nominations, for example for “the most erotic strike” (in men’s and women’s nominations).

Krasnodar (SFD) sent its representative to superfinal MERLION CUP'2010. The championship continues its way conquering new sports peaks! Next stages of the tournament will be held in Nizhniy Novgorod, Krasnoyarsk and Ufa.

* About the championship

MERLION CUP’2010 is the First All-Russia Bowling Tournament among MERLION’s partners. It is a new format of meetings between the largest Russian distributor of computer and digital equipment with regional partners which serves the task of strengthening mutual understanding among all participants of the computer equipment’s way from conveyor to the cash desk in the computer store. The tournament is held in accordance with international rules of playing bowling and Regulations about bowling competitions in Russia, approved by the Sports Bowling Federation of the country. A team, which will get maximum number of points in two games (regional stage and superfinal) will become a winner of the tournament on the results of superfinal MERLION CUP‘2010, which will be held in November 2010. The team will be awarded with a cup of MERLION CUP‘2010 and will get a prize fund of the championship which is 2500 dollars of the USA.
