On 5th and 6th September took place an interesting voyage “Upstream together with D-link” along the great Russian river Volga for winners of MERLION and D-link marketing program.

On 5th and 6th September of this year 12 winners of the marketing program “Upstream together with D-link” held at MERLION during two months – from 1th June to 15th August 2009 – went on a trip to Uglich, which is situated on the great Russian river Volga. As per conditions of the program, MERLION dealers were to make purchases of D-link network equipment for a specified amount and get the chance to transform into real barge haulers, towing along the Volga their own barge, loaded with goods, with a team of likeminded individuals.
On arrival at Uglich the event participants looked forward to interesting excursions and also the impersonation of real barge haulers on the great river Volga. In order to immerse deeper into the historical past a real work team of leaders of the IT-industry and representative of D-link Sergei Vasyuk was formed and that moment came, when they hauled the heavy barge!

Apart from plunging into the historical reconstruction of life of barge haulers, the winners of the program could evaluate the beauty of local landmarks. The event participants visited the magnificent Kremlin at Uglich; Historical-art Museum; the Church of Tsarevich Dmitry "on blood" 17th century, erected on the supposed place of demise of the last son of Ivan Grozny; Spaso-Preobrazhenskii Cathedral and Museum of Russian vodka, where the Russian national drink was tasted.
The beauty of Uglich was to the liking of IT-burlaks, and they left in a good mood to Moscow.
