MERLION held a MERLION Business Channel Forum in Hurghada for its retail Moscow and Moscow region partners from June 2-6, 2006.

MERLION Business Channel Forum took place in the luxurious Sunrise Garden Beach Hotel, June 2-6, 2006. This is the second time this year that the forum has been held. MERLION welcomed officials from 53 Moscow and Moscow region companies at the Red sea. The Forum was supported by the leading companies in IT industry such as BenQ, Hewlett-Packard, Nikon.

The focus of the MBC Forum in Hurghada was to foster a close cooperation and bolster the partnership with Moscow retail resellers, as well as drive further business growth.

In his opening speech Mr. Petrov, CEO of MERLION, remarked that today computer retail sales are the first priority to MERLION. “The company focuses on ready packaged solutions which may be attractive to retail partners. The main goal for the next year is to boost MERLION’s share in the product portfolio of our partners. This can be possible through expanding the range of vendors, enhancing customer service and introducing more efficient credit schemes”, he said.

Mr. Petrov also emphasized the comprehensive and well-balanced product range of the company. Today, the MERLION distributor’s portfolio features some exclusive offers, products that can boost your sales volume, products that bring you extra profits.

The MERLION key products remain to be monitors, laptops, printing, digital photography and video products. MERLION experts reported about the structure of each product category, interests of key players and main trends in the development of products within these categories. The company’s providers were very enthusiastic about the issue of efficient assortment planning. Such companies as BenQ (monitors), Hewlett-Packard (mobile PC, printers), IPPON (UPS), Jetbalance (multimedia acoustics), Oklick (mice and keyboards), and Nikon (digital photo) presented their new models, as well as new opportunities for dealer marketing support.

Every day of the Forum had a busy schedule. These included one-on-one meetings and exciting entertainment activities. The participants could experience a quad bike safari, enjoy fascinating coral reefs, breathtaking sunset in the desert, and simply have a great holiday.

In her closing speech at the Forum, Mrs. Shvedova, Commercial Director of Area Sales Group, who is in charge of Moscow retail business, said: “Doing business and having a holiday in a warm and friendly atmosphere gave us an opportunity to learn more about our partners, fully understand their needs, as well as improve our development strategy. A lot of companies have already come up with some new growth and cooperation opportunities”.
