Three yachts, three crews, five racing days and, as a result, a place among the top three participants of two stages of the Marmaris International Race Week autumn regatta!
At the end of the Mediterranean mellow season, a traditional autumn Marmaris International Race Week was held at the coast of Marmaris in Turkey, which is among the most popular international amateur regattas. It was the fourth time that MERLION took part in the regatta. This year, with support from Intel, Lenovo and Microsoft, the distributor’s team was presented by three yachts, one of which had its crew made up of partners who won the “Be ready for the new regatta with Intel!” marketing campaign. Five days of thrilling races against the backdrop of spectacular views, 90 competing yachts, dozens of hours of well-coordinated work at sea, consolidated crews, and as a result – the yacht under the Microsoft’s sail came third at the first stage of the race, and was second at the second stage!
Concurrently with participation in the yacht race, MERLION traditionally holds a business conference of its own in Turkey, where the distributor’s and vendors’ speakers tell their partners of their lines of products, new developments, technologies, present benefits of authorization and marketing programs, discuss all the aspects of efficient trilateral partnership. E.g., this year, the latest Windows 10 operating system was discussed; Lenovo’s speaker cited successful examples of gaining profits on a declining market; Intel’s distribution manager told of the 7th generation of Intel® Core® processors and new form factors overtaking the conventional ones at the new era of VR and MR-technologies, and the Internet of Things.
