Winners of the global partnership program "APC: conquering the peaks" have made an unforgettable journey to Tanzania and visited the island of Zanzibar.
«We live in Zanzibar,
In the Kalahari, and the Sahara
Up on Mount Fernando-Po,
Where the grumpy Hippo-Pop
Roams the mighty Limpopo.”
("Aibolit", K.I. Chukovsky)
During 2016, MERLION held the global partner program "APC: conquering the peaks". Until the last phase, which started in September 2016, the potential winners did not know which peak, at what end of the world they would conquer, whether it will be northern beautiful parts or southern paradise?
Now the program came to end, the results are reviewed, and happy participants from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa and Vladivostok have packed their bags and met at the airport to visit an unknown Tanzania.
This exotic country, which is situated almost at the "top of the equator", appeared before the travelers in all its glory. Four days of safaris around national parks allowed observing beautiful landscapes of local savannas that abound in African animals (baboons, blue monkeys, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, lions, elephants, rhinoceroses, warthogs, giraffes). The travelers also discovered the lifestyle of the local population Maasai.
The group first visited the park of Manyara with an alkaline lake. Safari continued in the Serengeti Park (translation from the Maasai language "boundless plains"). Its ecosystem is considered to be one of the oldest on our planet - the wildlife here is exactly the same as a million years ago. The travelers will remember the park as it gave them the opportunity to live in open lodges, to be bitten by tsetse flies and it was here that they could see the main African animals of the "African Big Five". Tourists also visited Ngorongoro Park, which is located inside the crater of the volcano, collapsed under its own weight more than 2 million years ago. Today it is an amazing and unique place with distinct flora and fauna formed, as the animals, living on the territory of Ngorongoro volcano, have no possibility to get outside.
The group spent the remaining three days in a real southern paradise on the island of Zanzibar, beautiful beaches of which are considered to be among the best in the world. There, according to the participants, "the scorching sun burned at a "one-burned-participant-every-30-minutes" speed. For three days, they enjoyed the purest turquoise water of the Indian Ocean and warm white sand, tried the most exotic dishes and relaxed.
MERLION thanks APC by Schneider Electric and all the participants for the excellent spirit and sense of unity and promises to surprise them with unusual formats of the events more than once.
