MERLION Business Channel` 2012 in Hong Kong: count on mutually beneficial cooperation

The sixth annual meeting of MERLION with its key partners was held in Hong Kong.

In the middle of June, within the frame of MERLION Business Channel`2012, the sixth visiting session of the meeting of MERLION Company with its key partners was held in Hong Kong. The place for holding the conference was not selected just by chance; it is because Hong Kong is considered to be one of the most progressive world centers, a metropolis of the latest technologies and a city of future. Such concept of development fully meets the requirements of most IT-companies, partners and good companions of MERLION.

The agenda of the conference was full of interesting events: the meeting included getting acquainted with top-managers and chiefs of the purchase department of MERLION, seeing the sights of Hong Kong and numerous surprises from the hosts.

DAY ONE: Gentlemen, make your bets, please!

During the first day of the event the participants visited Asian Las Vegas – the empire of gambling and entertainments Macao. Las Vegas already long ago gave the leadership to this small city, which is located on a peninsula in the South China Sea not far from Hong Kong, and which offers all possible types of casinos to inexperienced amateur players and incorrigible gamblers. Few people know that it is here, where the world largest gambling establishment is located, which left behind the casinos of Las Vegas not only according to their sizes, but also their profit. As they say, Macao is a place, where roulette wheel rotates 24 hours a day, giving everyone a chance to become the darling of fortune by staking a dollar and winning a million.

The participants of the visiting conference of MERLION Business Channel`2012 also had an opportunity to try their luck.

The evening was glorified with a dinner at one of the most exceptional places of the city - Macau Tower, 360 Café. It is not only that this prominent restaurant is situated in the tenth highest building in the world, but it is also slowly turning, allowing the visitors to enjoy a magnificent bird’s-eye view of Macao. The participants of the conference not only had an opportunity to appreciate the surrounding areas, but also taste European and national cuisine.

DAY TWO: All bets are off, no more bets!

The official part of the conference was opened by Nicolay Orlov, MERLION director of sales, who gave a welcome to the participants on behalf of the hosts. Then the floor was given to vendors, who had quite a lot to share with the participants of the event.

Denis Vernikov, Samsung manager for working with key partners, presented the main trends of company’s activities for the year 2012. Konstantin Ermakov, chief of Powercom representative office in Russia, told about new goals, strategies and solutions of the company in 2012. Presentation of the program Windows Upgrade Offer (preferential transfer from Windows 7 to Windows 8) was the key point of the speech of Alexey Nevsky, chief of Microsoft product line. The participants learned about Panasonic system solutions from the speech of Roman Lobanov, sales manager of the department of telecommunication products. Eugene Militsa, general director of Pocketbook in Russia, shared with the participants the development strategy of the company and its plans for the future. The last point of the business agenda of this day was the question of Dell’s partner program, which was covered in the speech of Maria Lobanova, manager for working with distributors.

After official part the participants in their free time walked around a complex maze of crowded Hong Kong streets.

This evening the participants of the conference again had an opportunity to show their passion for gambling and make their bets at one of the oldest race tracks Happy Valley. Equestrian sport is extremely popular in Hong Kong, and Happy Valley is one of the few places, where you can meet normally reserved citizens of Hong Kong being full of sincere passions. Horse races have been held here since 1846, when the race track was opened at the site of a drained swamp.

DAY THREE: good-hearted Asian fairy tale.

The second day of the business program of the conference was held in Disneyland Hotel. Representatives of НР, АОС, Acer, ZyXEL, QNAP made their speeches for the participants of the conference.

HP announced a whole team of speakers: Andrei Kuchinsky, chief of the department of HP data storage systems, presented the variety of HP solutions for cloud systems, and Eugene Afanasiev, technical advisor of the department of preparation technical solutions offered to the audience an overview of HP solutions: future today. Andrei Samoilov, manager for business development of AOC in Russia, presented a line of company monitors for successful business development. The company Acer was represented at the conference by Ilya Dudchenko, manager for regional business development, and Alexandr Savin, manager for business development. Ilya described the new products of Acer in the segment of mobile PCs (ultrabooks, laptops, netbooks), as well as training and partner program. Alexander told about a range of monitors and projectors of Acer and latest trends on the market of these devices.

Vladimir Propoi, deputy director of the company QNAP for working with partners, welcomed the participants of the forum on behalf of the company. Anton Vorobiev, ZyXEL manager for working with partners, continued his speech with a presentation “Network attached storages and systems of IP-video surveillance of QNAP”. He also gave the audience information on ZyXEL solutions: for any business, for any technologies.

After the conference those who wanted could visit the youngest entertainment park Disneyland. In the fifth park of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts there are located amusement rides, souvenir shops and restaurants suited to every fancy. Here the surprising beauty of insular Asia perfectly harmonizes with a good-hearted fairy tale, in which “they lived happily ever after”, as well as our heroes – the participants of MERLION Business Channel`2012 in Hong Kong.

The farewell party was best remembered for the gala-dinner, during which the guests met with a surprise – a fascinating Kung-Fu show that was presented to their attention.
