On December 6, the Sokolinaya Okhota restaurant became the venue of a New Year’s ball arranged by the MERLION and Hewlett-Packard companies for the best MERLION’s partners in distribution of HP products. The event took the stock of cooperation in the year 2007.

December 6, 2007, the Sokolinaya Okhota restaurant located on the territory of the old Sokolniki park in Moscow hosted a New Year’s ball, which MERLION and Hewlett-Packard organized for its partners.
Greeting the participants, CEO of the MERLION company Vyacheslav Simonenko expressed his gratitude to the partners for impressive results of promoting HP products on the Russian market achieved by MERLION and its partners in 2007. MERLION’s turnover for HP products has doubled over the year. As a result, HP has become supplier No. 1 of more than 150 producers MERLION cooperates with.
In 2007, cooperation with HP has expanded owing to new groups of products. Distribution contracts have been signed on servers and storage systems, consumables and two other product groups of strategic importance to be announced late in December. Today MERLION is the only Russian distributor having contracts for the entire HP product range.
Vyacheslav Simonenko emphasized as MERLION’s undisputed advantages in the channel its HP products warehouse of unparalleled capacity, appropriate price policy, competence and professionalism of the company’s employees.
Together with Sergey Raskolov – MERLION’s sales director, Vyacheslav Simonenko presented awards to the best MERLION partners for HP products in a number of categories.;)
The ball’s dancing program was started by Cabaret Fusion costumed show and their precious dance of the epoch of Catherine the Great. Yelena Kalinina, who captivated the guests with both her beauty and marvelous voice, performed tuneful ballads and international hits. Performances of the dancing show group alternated with charades and interludes from the entertainer. The event reached its culmination with a gig of the legendary Bravo band. The evergreen rockers clad in white jeans sang of the orange necktie, the best city on the Earth, the black cat’s misfortunes, and other songs of everyone’s liking. The radiant energy of rock’n’roll infatuated even those guests, who did not dare dancing to this incredibly buoyant music.
On the sidelines, Yevgeniy Telyukov, the chief of HP ProCurve Networking department, shared his view on partnership with MERLION: “As for the baseline level of a joint project, we don’t see it as a crucial factor. What matters is the dynamic of the growth achieved by the partner’s business. With MERLION, we don’t have to make extra efforts, or push them towards the set objectives: the company plans its business well and provides timely response to the changing situation on the market. Hence - their remarkable results. I am sure that the year 2008 will become the year of new success for MERLION”.
As Nadezhda Giryayeva, manager for development of HP consumables sales channel, said, “MERLION is the “youngest” HP consumables distributor. Yet, a number of second-level partners are pleased to cooperate with MERLION. As MERLION is engaged in delivering both printers and consumables, companies find it convenient to purchase both of them from the same distributor. We are full of hope and optimism regarding this partner of ours, and expect new impressive results”.
Vadim Murashov, Director General of Altcom, which won in the HP Personal Systems category, assessed his company’s cooperation with MERLION in 2007 as follows, "I have been acquainted to MERLION employees for a long time, though our close partnership began about a year ago. Over the period in question, our business has grown up to quite significant figures. I see the reason behind such a growth in readiness and willingness of the two companies to take steps towards each other. This is the year when our business has become truly cooperative, so that we have become real partners. And I hope that this mutually beneficially collaboration will go on next year".
In conclusion of the dancing party, the guests were treated with a soap bubbles show, where everyone could try making a giant, even if short-living, shimmering multi-colored wonder, and a disco.
