HP and MERLION: server invasion goes on

Joint events of two leaders of the Russian IT market –MERLION company, the leading Russian distributor of computer components, digital appliances, hardware peripherals, network and office equipment, and HP company, the world’s leader in the sphere of IT-infrastructure solutions, personal computing systems and assess units, have been held for more than two years since 2007. The first joint events of the two companies were held within the framework of the road-show «MSS Road Map: server-based landing» since 2007 up to 2008. Due to the two-day framework of the forum the organizers were able not only to involve the necessary audience at most, but also to give the partners a possibility to discuss the issues specified in the speakers’ reports in detail.

Nowadays regional system integrators, IT-equipment suppliers and corporative clients from different regions of the Russian Federation are still the target audience of the technical seminars held by HP and MERLION. The principal aim of the seminars is to familiarize the partners of MERLION with the modern solutions for enterprises developed by HP corporation.

In spring and summer, 2010, HP and MERLION returned to the idea of joint events and instigated a number of technical seminars under the common title “HP products and technologies for virtual infrastructure building”. Two-day seminars were successfully held in three cities of the Russian Federation: in Samara (24-25 of March this year), Nizhny Novgorod (15-16 of April this year) and Irkutsk (16-17 of June this year). The events in Samara and Nizhny Novgorod were held with active involvement of Igor Lobanov, destination representative in Privolzhsky FD, HP Russia; and the seminar in Irkutsk – with the participation of Victor Emelianov, Head of Siberian FD office, HP Russia. The representative of MERLION company for the communication with the partners was Evgeny Achkasov, Head of “System integrators” sales department.

Within the framework of the events the partners of MERLION obtained comprehensive information about the HP portfolio of solutions for virtual infrastructure building. Moreover the two-day seminars were devoted to the flagship product in the line of HP data storage systems - НР P4000 G2 SAN (LeftHand). Apart from exhaustive business presentations during the official part of the forum the demonstration of НР P4000 G2 SAN (LeftHand) data storage system and complex solutions based on HP equipment was held for the clients. The partners could also obtain the most complete information about HP StorageWorks technology and data protection in virtual environment (НР Data Protector).

In the nearest future the companies plan to land HP and MERLION in the Far East and the Southern Federal district.
