IPPON: five years on the Russian market

November 29, 2007, a cozy Arkhitektor restaurant hosted a news conference on the 5th anniversary of the IPPON trademark’s presence on the Russian market.

The IPPON trademark entered the Russian market in 2002, with an offer of mass market-oriented affordable uninterruptible power supplies. IPPON UPS means the utmost user-friendliness, superb configuration, unique russified software and an easy-to-use operating manual. The demand for mass market uninterruptible power supplies proved to be high, and it did not take long for the IPPON products to become popular with Russian users.

Today products under the IPPON brand are sold in all the regions of the Russian Federation, with the Russia’s 1500 leading IT companies purchasing IPPON uninterruptible power supplies. IPPON UPS provide reliable protection for household and computer equipment of consumers residing all over Russia, as well as in Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

The IPPON product range comprises 6 UPS models, along with 23 modifications in the Line-Interactive AS, Line-Interactive Sin and Off-line segments.

According to ITResearch analysts, in the third quarter of 2007 the IPPON trademark was holding a confident position on Russia’s UPS market (35% in terms of sold items), being among the leaders of the country’s Russian market. Within the presentation, IPPON TM’s brand manager Igor Poluektov summed up the year’s results and outlined plans of further development.The year 2007 saw the advent of UPS models in the Off-line segment – IPPON Back Verso and IPPON Back Office. Besides, in 2007 IPPON has been expanding its product portfolio and entering the market of surge protectors with its new IPPON surge protectors of the BK series. The company’s plans for 2008 foresee raising the brand’ share in the Off-line segment, strengthening its positions in the Line-interactive Sin segment, joining the market of stabilizers and introducing new models of surge protectors.

In the evening of the same day – November 29, 2007 – there was a festive review of the IPPON authorization program results. The authorization had taken place from June 1 to August 31 of 2007 in the MERLION company. More than 150 partners from all over Russia had taken part in the authorization program. Under the rules, dealers were to purchase IPPON UPS during the program period. As a result of the program, over 100 partners got the status of an IPPON Authorized Partner.
