«The MERLION IT-school» closed the season of 2012. The new season and new meetings lie ahead

As a part of the autumn session the meetings of the IT school took place in Tver, Krasnodar, Astrakhan and Omsk.

Ten Russian cities, around 500 participants, personal involvement of leading Russian manufacturers ad MERLION representatives, pleasant interaction during the informal part of the programs with most interesting master classes… Both participants and organizers note that the MERLION IT school finished its first year with the best grades.

Starting in spring in Perm, Irkutsk and Barnaul, the IT school went on with a summer session of meetings, taking place in Kursk, Tyumen and Saratov. And then it was time for the final autumn session. In September and October the IT schools in Tver, Krasnodar, Astrakhan and Omsk opened their doors welcoming their ‘students’.

Tver

The autumn session of IT school meetings started in Tver on September 4th. More than 30 representatives of regional partner companies came there as ‘students’, to learn more about the products promoted on the Russian market with the assistance of the MERLION company. The ‘director’ of the Tver IT school was Aleksandr Platonov, MERLION business development manager. He greeted the new students on behalf of the project organizers and offered to the gathered audience the report on the topic of «MERLION 2.0 – evolution of distribution». The study sessions were spent very productively. During the presentations of the vendor companies GIGABYTE, iRU, Fujitsu, presented correspondingly by Vyacheslav Alushkin, GIGABYTE production manager, Aleksei Petrykin, iRU business development manager, and Artyom Kormiltsev, consultant on working with partners in CFD (Fujitsu), the audience learned about the peculiarities and benefits of the vendors’ products, were introduced to new products and also learned how, using cooperation and partnership programs, to bring their business to a new level.

Krasnodar

At the Krasnodar meeting of the IT school the audience expanded their store of knowledge about the Dell, Panasonic, Fujitsu, iRU, Quest Software products. Evgeny Sokolov, business development manager for Microsoft software, opened the meeting with a traditional report «MERLION2.0 – evolution of distribution». Evgeny Karpov, the head of the marketing and planning group of the telecommunications department, spoke to the students about the multifunctional Panasonic devices issued by the company in 2012. The «Fujitsu – equipment for your business» report was presented to the partners by Igor Smolyanitsky, the Fujitsu representative in the Southern and Northern Caucasian Federal Districts. Antonina Osipova, the Quest Software business development manager, spoke about monitoring the efficiency of the applications and, in particular, about the Quest Foglight solution. Vitaly Karukhov, the iRU business development manager, made an appeal to the guests to open new possibilities with iRU appliances.

Astrakhan

The next platform for a meeting with partners as a part of IT school was Astrakhan, where on October 5th another study day for regional participants took place. Open classes were held by Sergey Mashnin, the head of MERLION business development department, Evgeny Sokolov, business development manager for Microsoft software, Dmitry Inshakov, Panasonic multifunctional device product specialist, and Evgeny Yanovsky, Powercom partner cooperation manager, introducing new UPS for home, office and business.

Omsk

The last city in the autumn IT session was Omsk. This time the ones talking to the Omsk students were Pavel Goryachkin, head of the business development section of the Systems Integration department, Aleksey Kiselyov, the technical consultant from Fujitsu for the Ural, Siberia and Far East FD, Dmitry Inshakov, Panasonic multifunctional device product specialist, Andrey Samoylov, AOS manager for business development in Russia, and Denis Kiselyov, Powercom partner cooperation manager. The vendor representatives introduced their products to the students and talked about efficient ways to develop business through active cooperation.

Fun time between lessons

As we all know, any school is more than engrossing lessons and interesting teachers, it’s also fun times between the lessons. The MERLION IT school is no exception. Besides the official part the ‘student’ partners had a master class in cocktail making, in which everyone who wanted to could participate, and also a fantastic bar show. All the best bartenders of the city were invited as teachers. The guests learned about the history of the most popular cocktails of the world and the secrets of their preparation and also had a chance to interact in an informal setting. The participants of the Astrakhan school were able to go fishing outside of the city, enjoying the beauties of the countryside and also tasting the sugary local watermelons and the freshly caught fish.

So, this is the end of the autumn series of meetings, the last lesson for the graduates of MERLION IT school. As always, it is a little sad to bid farewell to the participants of the project. But we do not really bid them farewell, we’re just saying: “Goodbye till we meet again next year!”
