All work then play. Kazan hosts MERLION Business Channel

On September 15-16, the sixth regional MERLION Business Channel took place in Kazan, the Russian Republic of Tatarstan. The leading computer companies of the Volga region discussed prospects for the further development of the business and IT regional market.

On September 15-16, millennium-old Tatarstan  welcomed the participants of the sixth MERLION Business Channel forum. The MERLION forum attracted about a hundred representatives of sixty leading computer companies from the twenty cities of the Volga federal district; these included Al’metyevsk, Balakovo, Berezniki, Bugul’ma, Izhevsk, Kazan, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Naberezhnye Chelny, Neftekamsk, Nizhnekamsk, Orenburg, Penza, Perm, Samara, Saratov, Tolyatti, Ylyanovsk, Ufa and Cheboksary. The gathering in Kazan was supported by such well-known IT companies as Acorp, BenQ, Lexmark, NVIDIA, SPARKLE, IPPON, iRU and Oklick.

The meeting with  partners from the Volga region had a new format , that is a  regional MERLION Business Channel forum. The forum aimed to develop personal contacts and friendly relations between the team of MERLION-Volga Sales Office and the company’s partners in the Volga federal district. The whole team of the sales office, 30 people all together, made it to the forum in Kazan, including sales, business development, finance, logistics, marketing and some product division managers. They made their presentations giving the MERLION partners the best idea of the company’s goals and development strategies.

Mr. Sonk, Mr. Zhuravlev, Mr. PetrovMr. Petrov, CEO of MERLION, commented on the key changes the company has undergone this year. These are upgraded marketing structure, the development of a common product and logistics space, and new principles of the credit policy.

One of the highlights of the forum was the presentation made by Mr. Sonk, President of MERLION, concerning the key trends in the growing IT global market, advanced development strategies for IT companies and important formats of computer retailers.

Mr. Zhuravlev, Marketing Director of MERLION, took up the issue of the nowadays situation and prospects in retail business. He commented on the present situation in the IT retail market of the Volga region and pointed out some profitable specialty products in retail business.

The forum in Kazan featured a busy schedule of one-on-one meetings. For the first time, MERLION partners in the Volga region were given the opportunity to discuss the present partnership and its prospects with the company’s reps of different ranks. Besides some topical partnership issues, the partners were quite concerned to discuss the opportunities to cooperate with MERLION System Solutions and join the POSITRONIKA project.

The most exciting thing of the informal programme was a visit to the Kazan race track. Everybody got carried away with that racing spirit and tried their luck. Some race enthusiasts not only played stakes, but also joined the auction. The partners were really surprised to see the MERLION President’s watch and memorable gifts from the company’s top managers in the black auction box.

In her closing speech, Yulia Lukashina, Commercial Director of MERLION-Volga Sales Office, remarked: “It is very important for us to have felt the business air in the Volga federal district and caught the spirits of this business community. A close cooperation between the managers of the MERLION-Volga team and the company’s partners during these two days gave us the opportunity to learn more about the features of the region and get a better idea of services and tools MERLION makes use of to work with its dealers. I’m sure that today the company has all the resources to boost MERLION share in the market of the Volga region”.
