«POSITRONICA». Look into the future

Press-Conference held on March 27 outlined results of the second year in operation of Positronica network.

At the press-conference "Positronica: Look into the Future", which was held on March 27, 2007 in Swissotel Krasnye Holmy, Moscow, results of Positronica network’s (www.positronica.ru) second year of work were outlined. Representatives of Positronica management company, such as Vasim Yarotsky, the General Director; Roman Sychev, Franchising Director, Elena Lisovtseva, the head of Marketing and Advertising department took part in the Conference Among other participants were owners of Positronica stores, such as Evgeny Lepekhin (Ivanovo), Andrey Cherenkov (Kostroma), Denis Pichugin (Zheleznodorozhny).

Positronica retail network, developing on the base of partners of MERLION (www.merlion.com), the leading Russian IT-distributor, shows impressive results. In March 2008 POSITRONICA network celebrated two year of its being around (the first store was opened on March 4, 2006, in Naberezhnye Chelny). In two years 164 stores were opened in 140 Russian cities. Total shopping space of all the stores exceeds 25,000 sq.m. According to these figures POSITRONICA can be surely named as Russian leading computer retailer. There are POSITRONICA stores in every federal districts of the RF which demonstrates wide geographic coverage of the project. High dynamics of POSITRONICA development was rewarded with the main award in the sphere of sales and services – "Russian sales Olympus".

Cumulative proceeds of the network reached 200 mln. USD/year. In 2007 total investments of MERLION, its partners and vendors (producer-suppliers) into the project amounted to about 30 mln. Positronica’s success can be expressed in other figures as well, e.g. in 2007 increase of proceeds from 1 sq.m of sales area averaged 40% that is almost two times higher than the general computer retail market growth. In the last year awareness of TM (in cities covered) tripled.

In the current year POSITRONICA company is going to maintain its development strategy in the regions. Stores of 100 – 350 sq. m. of shopping space will still be opened in small cities (under 500 thous. of population). It is planned to expand the network to 250 POSITRONICA stores and to reach 35,000 sq.m. figure regarding shopping space by the end of first quarter of 2009. Expected proceeds in 2009 is about 350 mln. USD. The main focus during this year will be on quality of business functioning, i.e. the network will have only quality and commercially strong POSITRONICA stores able to satisfy requirements of even the most demanding buyers of computer and digital equipment.

The leading IT and business publications, such as «Forbes», «Vedomosti», Interfax, RBC, IT-daily, «Business magazine», Sales business, «Trade news», etc took part in the Conference.
