MBC in Rostov-on-Don: new perspectives, new tasks and new solutions

On the 11th of March this year in Rostov on the Don there was held first in 2010 forum MERLION Business Channel in a renewed format. More than 100 partners of MERLION took part in the conference, representatives of the world largest manufacturers of computer equipment and leaders of MERLION Company.

From the very beginning the main task of MERLION Business Channel forums was to establish a reliable contact with the partners in the region in order to effectively resolve key issues of cooperation on all levels. For MERLION and vendors MBC forums help to better understand needs of the resellers and timely respond to the changes in the local markets. Coming year the company continues to stake on opened communication with the partners.

On the 11th of March this year in hotel Don-Plaza in Rostov on the Don there was held a MERLION Business Channel conference for the partners in Southern Federative District. Representatives of the largest suppliers of computer equipment took part in the conference, companies Dell, HP, Intel, LG, Microsoft, Samsung, Western Digital; representatives of one hundred largest IT companies of the region and leaders of MERLION Company. The first conference of 2010 was held in a renewed format. The forum’s official part was divided in three parts: 15-minutes business presentations of vendors, then a “round table” of MERLION for the participants of the conference and the third part consists of “round tables” of vendors where the partners are suggested to assess the current situation in the market through the lenses of the manufacturers equipment’s promotion and sales.

Guests and participants of the forum in Rostov on the Don were welcomed by MERLION General Direcor Vyacheslav Simonenko. Then Sergey Raskopov, MERLION sales director, continued the forum with his report “MERLION Business Channel 2010”. He told the partners about a new sales structure of the company which reflected new business directions of MERLION. In his report Sergey Raskopov оpointed out that “during crisis in 2009 the number MERLION’s partners increased more than 20%, and now in total it is three thousand companies”. Then he represented new projects of MERLION, among which there were “Household appliances”, a new business direction and a training project for the partners MERLION Center of Competence*.

After that the floor was taken by representatives of the vendors with their 15-minutes business presentations:

  • Oleg Yerokhin, Samsung information technologies and corporative sales department director with a report “New monitors and printers, spring 2010”;
  • Yanina Nizhelskaya, WD manager on work with partners in southern region, with a presentation “WD is a technological leader of the market”;
  • Ruslan Lantsov, DELL leader of the direction gas and oil industry/energy/transport, with a report “DELL’s opinion about effective enterprise”;
  • Ilya Zhuliabin, regional representative of Intel in SFD, with a report “News from Intel corporation”;
  • Radik Nurgaleev, LG manager on work with partners,
    and Anastasia Kiriakova, LG training manager, with the presentation called ”LG monitors, position in the market and prospects of development”;
  • Yevgeniy Mikhailov, HP manager on distribution of printing devices of digital view and consumables, with a report ‘Our experience is your success!”. Yevgeniy Mikhaikov told the partners about the last novelties of HP Company and presented the partners a joint HP and MERLION marketing program titled “MERLION Travel Club”, which started in the beginning of March this year.

In the renewed version of MERLION Business Channel forum in continuation of the official part of the event the guests were suggested to have a new format of communication – “round tables”. In the discussion with TOP managers of MERLION the partners discussed urgent problems of cooperation with distributors. Meanwhile at the “round tables” under the flags of vendors participants began to discuss topics about computer equipment’s promotion in the region, commercial prospects of the development of commodity groups/ Participants of the forum made the best to formulate the most efficient steps in conquering promising market niches for the equipment discussed.

At the end of the forum there were organized informal communications during face to face meetings pre-planned before, entertainment program and holiday party. All the participants enjoyed themselves and had brilliant time among their colleagues on IT business.

* MERLION Center of Competence is a new training project for the partners, which functions since September 2009. In the framework of the CC there are conducted more than 60 various courses and trainings for the partners (production trainings, products and purchases, general management, personnel management and others). In the framework of the forum in Rostov on the Don the CC conducted a series of trainings for representatives of the largest IT companies of the region on topics “Personnel management” and ” Management of the purchases and technologies of the sales”. Twenty companies from eight cities of SFD took part in the trainings.
