On June 17 this year, a sailing regatta of Seagate and MERLION teams took place in one of the largest Moscow-region suburban sailing clubs, “Elite Crows.” MERLION partners and representatives of Seagate have come together in a picturesque nook of the Moscow region and tried their hands at sailing.

In the middle of July, the suburban sailing club “Elite Crows” hosted a seminar promoting Seagate products for its partners in the Central Federal District. Besides the business part of the event, guests of the seminar tried their hands at sailing and participated in a real sailing regatta.
Seagate representatives, Alexander Novichikhin, Seagate internal drive sales manager, and Albert Tatulov, Seagate external drive sales manager, spoke before the guests with presentation of the company’s products. Seagate is a world’s leading company in technologies and products for storage and use of data on electronic media. From the official part of the seminar, partners of MERLION learned about goals and tasks of the American corporation in the Russian market, and the joint partnership programs between Seagate and MERLION. Besides, the guests received exhaustive information on the latest products within the line of the company’s hard drives. Seagate representatives advertised models of external hard drives for small and medium business, for instance, 2.5” hard drives for servers – ConstellationTM, Savvio®, and PulsarTM. They have also spoken in detail on products meant for end-consumers – Barracuda hard drives for personal computers – Barracuda®, Barracuda® LP, and Barracuda® XT.

After the official part of the event, participants of the seminar had a unique opportunity to feel like real yachtsmen. The Seagate regatta had two stages. At the first stage, participants had to reach a certain place, go round it and come back first. At the second stage, the sportsmen had to install a second sail on their ships, so all the yachts were going at a higher speed which made it more difficult to control them. Nevertheless two yachts breasted the tape with a 5-second difference, which, as the real yachtsmen say, is a very rare thing in sailing sport. By results of the competition members of the “Skif” team headed by their captain Viacheslav Uglovsky (company Arsenal+) appeared as the best yachtsmen.
Besides venturesome sailing competitions, participants of the event have also tried their hand at cooking a traditional American meal, barbecue. This part of the event took place on the bank of a picturesque storage pond under the June sun shining brightly. All participants divided into two teams with a similar set of ingredients and a charcoal grill. The teams cooked meat, fish and fowl. Chef of the Moscow restaurant “Amsterdam” Artem Khramtsov determined best cooks by results of the taste test:

The summer evening ended in the cozy mood of a friendly talk in the open air on the bank of a picturesque pond in the Moscow suburb.
