MERLION IT-school: the results of spring session

A number of partner conferences of a new format named “MERLION IT-school” started in March in Perm. The spring session continued in the cities of Irkutsk and Barnaul. In total, the calendar of IT-school includes 10 Russian cities.

“MERLION IT-school” is a special form of expressing gratitude to our partners, with which the company intends to share its experience and knowledge. The main mission of the program is to strengthen the competitiveness of the partners, to achieve growth of their positions on local markets and increase their competences in regard to the prospective commodity groups, products and solutions of leading vendors worldwide.

We have already written about the meeting, which took place in Perm. Today we are going to tell about the meetings in Irkutsk and Barnaul.

Irkutsk

The second meeting of MERLION Company with its partners was carried out in the form of IT-school in Irkutsk on April, 27. About 40 representatives of IT-companies of the region sat down at the desks. Representatives of АОС, BenQ, Samsung and Microsoft took part in the meeting.

Kirill Kazakov, manager for business development of the MERLION Company, started the model lesson by showing the presentation “MERLION 2.0 – evolution of distribution”. He was followed by Andrey Samoilov, manager for the development of AOC business in Russia, who made the presentation “AOC monitors for your business”. Vadim Khomyakov, manager for working with partners of the company BenQ, covered in details the following issue: “LCD-monitors and projectors for retail and education”.

After a long brake Boric Yatsenko, manager for working with partners of the company Samsung, presented to the participants a new line of Samsung monitors. The official part of the day of studies was finished by Alexey Ivanov, Microsoft product sales manager, who gave a detailed story about the ways how to earn money by selling Microsoft Office 2012 as an instrument which increases the efficiency of work.

After closing the official part hosts decided to give a possibility for all those, who were invited, to go deeply into the Italian cuisine, as there is nothing more that can bring people together so well as joint art of cooking.

During the cooking lesson professional chefs described to the participants the nuances of cooking Italian dishes, and then, under the guidance of masters, the real creativity revealed itself.

It all started with cooking Italian snacks, which were tender rolls made of young zucchini with a cream of mixed curd cheese and nuts. Then there was the famous salad “Strachetti di manzo”, made of the most delicate beef fillet, and fried pike-perch with salsa of bell pepper and spicy herbs. For the finale, participants of the master class expressed their imagination by cooking their own dish out of the ingredients, which were left.

All dishes, which were cooked during the cooking master class, have been tasted and evaluated by their own creators at a big dinner table.

Barnaul

The third meeting of IT-school was held on May, 22 in Barnaul, and like in Irkutsk, it also attracted more than 40 representatives of IT-companies of this region. Representatives of ASUS, Fujitsu, Microsoft and Powercom took part in this meeting.

Kirill Kazakov, manager for business development of the MERLION Company, started the model lesson by showing the presentation “MERLION 2.0 – evolution of distribution”. He was followed by Dmitry Kulagin, monitor sales representative of ASUS, who made a fascinating report “ASUS – innovative technologies in components”. Alexey Kiselev, technical advisor of the company Fujitsu in Ural, Siberia and the Far East federal districts, covered in details the following issue: “Fujitsu servers and SANs – reliable systems for business”. In the afternoon, after a long brake, Petr Tkalich, Microsoft manager for working with clients, showed a presentation about “Microsoft special offers”. The official part of the day of studies was finished by Denis Kiselev, manager for working with partners of the company Powercome, who made a presentation “Powercome: new uninterruptible power supply units for home, office and enterprise!”.

Following the existing tradition, the school studies did not finish with the IT topic, but transferred into a cooking battle. There was not simply a gala dinner, waiting for the partners, who were leaving the classroom, but a restaurant chef with all the ingredients for cooking sushi, so much enjoyed by everyone. A real passion for cooking became apparent among the participants of the event, and in small groups they started coming to the chef’s table in order to learn the nuances of cooking this Japanese dish. The cooked dishes were eaten with great pleasure.

But work is done, have your fun! Having completely finished the topics of their studies, MERLION partners could express themselves in a singing competition and in dancing. The spring evening in Altai was warm and friendly, and it was filled with positive communication!

This was the spring session in MERLION IT-school, but around the corner another, summer session of meetings is waiting for us.
