MERLION has been rated for 12 years already (since 2005). This time around, the company has left 5 positions behind and taken #60 of the general rating and #5 in the rating of industries , wholesale category.

RAEX-600The rating authors wrote: “Russian business has passed an acute phase of the economic crisis. However, the potential of the existing growth points is not enough to overcome the actual stagnation.Implementing the model of “smart” import substitution along with a simultaneous turn of the economy to the East may become an alternative solution to a long period of zero growth rates. This RAEX-600 ranking proves that big business’ income growth rates have left the negative zone. In 2016, the total income of companies included in the ranking grew by 5.8 %, hardly exceeding the official inflation rate (5.4 %).An acute phase of the economic crisis aggravated by unprecedented adverse external factors affecting Russia was left behind. The state of shock caused by fall of raw material prices and by restricted access to Western credit resources and technologies is fading away while the domestic market has been swept in an intense and quick manner to get rid of excessive import products due to devaluation.Russia's economy has proven it is able to take the blow. The foundation of Russia's economic sovereignty has passed the test”.

We shall remind that in 1995-2003 this rating included only production companies, with 200 enterprises in total. In 2004, the list of participants was extended to 400 companies; companies involved in all fields of business activity were rated. Since 2015, the rating includes 600 companies. Since 2017, the rating also includes non-state pension funds (NSPF) and leasing companies. Companies' rating positions were determined by ranking them in terms of product sales (works, services) volume in 2016.
