MERLION hits #35 on the Forbes’ ranking again

Forbes, a leading business magazine published its annual Russia TOP 200 – the 200 largest private companies ranking list , including companies with not more that 50 % of the capital owned by the state and foreign co-owners. MERLION became the only IT distributor, which entered the first Forbes TOP 200 list published in 2005. The company has been holding its position on the ranking for 12 years already.

This year, for the first time Forbes’ analysts included banks and insurance companies in the list of largest private companies in Russia. Generally, the list includes 19 banks and insurance companies with the total income of 1.8 trillion rubles. However, the presence of financial sector representatives did not affect the ranking position of the largest Russian distributor (MERLION). The company is still holding #35, considerably surpassing all direct competitors.

According to Forbes’ experts who use the FAS data, the contribution of private Russian companies to the national GDP is 30 % in 2016. As for industries’ performance, machine building industry demonstrated the most considerable growth last year with the annual turnover growth mean value reaching 22 %. For comparison, MERLION’s turnover growth was about 24.7 %, exceeding the growth in this industry.
