The UPS market in Russia has shown various growth rates in Q1.
According to ITResearch, in Q1 2018, 284,000 UPS devices were sold in the Russian market for $64.5 mln. The annual growth rates have a mixed behavior. In comparison to Q1 2017, the market showed a considerable growth rate in kind, exceeding 9 %. But in monetary terms, the market showed a decrease by 4 % due to a sharp slump of the weight average unit cost  In whole, the market performance is currently a bit lower than estimated by ITResearch for 2018 (“in 2018, the UPS market may grow by 5–10 % and by 15 % approx. in natural units”).
 

No actual changes in the photo paper market
In 2017, product Lomond 102014 became the absolute bestselling product in the Russian market relating to photo paper for inkjet printers, according to “The Bestseller of the Year” annual ranking run by the “Bestsellery IT-rynka” magazine. Lomond brand traditionally takes the leading positions in the Russian marking related to photo paper packs for inkjet printing. That is why it is not surprising that different product kits by Lomond have been taking the leading positions for many years.  

The document scanner market has its own bestselling products
In 2017, Canon DR-M140 became the absolute bestselling product in the Russian market relating to document scanners, according to “The Bestseller of the Year” annual ranking run by the “Bestsellery IT-rynka” magazine. Unlike flatbed scanners, the document scanner segment shows lower sales volumes in whole. That is why ITResearch determines the bestselling products individually in this class.  

FHD panel vs. UHD panel: cost comparison
Fast development of the 4K display segment is one of the key trends in Russia’s LFD market. In 2013, ultra high definition (UHD) displays were demanded only by some enthusiasts, but by mid 2017 the UHD models took over 15 % within the structure of total supply. A wider spread of 4K displays is still hampered by relatively high prices of the products, but prices tend to change at a fast pace. Five years ago the 4K panel average cost was over $50,000, but by mid 2017 it slumped to $10,000 approx.

Low-end segment products have thrived again in the projector market
In 2017, BenQ MS506 became the absolute bestselling product in the Russian market relating to projectors, according to “The Bestseller of the Year” annual ranking run by the “Bestsellery IT-rynka” magazine. Please note that this model was the bestselling product, according to the ranking results for the last year.

The display market in Russia keeps growing, but…
According to ITResearch, a Russian market research company, 618 thousand displays for $105.7 mln approx. were sold in the Russian market. The annual growth totaled about 18 % in kind and 21 % in monetary terms. It is worth mentioning that these growth rates comply with the level estimated by ITResearch for 2018. However, market experts are concerned about the fact that in March 2018, for the first time for more than 1-year period, the market entered the decline zone, showing a decrease in comparison to March 2017.   

ITResearch: The hardcopy market in Russia keeps growing
According to ITResearch, about 480,000 devices were sold in Russia's printer and desktop MFP market for the first three months. This figure is by 13.5 % higher than the figures registered in Q1 2017. Thus, the market has been maintaining the positive growth tendency for three quarters in a row since mid 2017, and, in comparison to the end of 2017, it is growing faster. In the meantime, the growth rates of the market’s monetary volume (about $114 mln) that exceeded 25 % throughout last year have slumped to 15.8 % and have become comparable with the volume rise in kind.  

Slight changes in the list of bestselling displays
In 2017, the Philips 223V5LSB 21,5” model became the absolute bestselling product in the Russian market relating to displays, according to “The Bestseller of the Year” annual ranking run by the “Bestsellery IT-rynka” magazine. In whole, in comparison to last year, there were very slight changes in the group of leading models. The display market began to recover. However, despite a variety of technology improvements, which will show themselves in the future, time-proved models for office workstations are the top priority.  

The Russian LED module market has shown an impressive growth
According to ITResearch, the Russian LED module market showed a considerable growth in 2017. In total, over 1,300 large-screen displays were sold, with the total area of 33,000 sq. m approx. The total market capacity was $48.4 mln. In comparison to 2016, the total area was increased by 48 %; the growth in monetary terms was increased by 32 %.
