MERLION has signed the distribution agreement with Avery Zweckform - the world leader in the production and distribution of digital printing solutions based on software.

“Zweckform Company - Stationery and Office Products Limited” was founded on March 9, 1946 in Oberlineden near Munich. 11 years before, in 1935, New York, Stan Avery developed the world's first self-adhesive labels. As a result, in October 1958, Zweckform signed the licensing agreement with Avery. From this point on, self-adhesive labels and photo corners were made and sold in Bavaria.

In the 1970s, when computers and printers changed everyday life forever, Zweckform developed computer labels for inject printers and copy labels for A4 DIN-printers. In the 1980s, the first label templates appeared in Microsoft Word - the first polyester labels for laser printer. Due to the rapidly growing demand in 1982, Zweckform opens new production near the town of Holzkirchen (Bavaria).

In the 1990s, Zweckform developed a secure QCT edge for A4 sheets, which allows the sheet to pass through the printer without getting stuck or getting glue into the printer. The emergence of universal labels as a new class has become a significant event in the labeling market: one universal label for printing on matrix, laser, inkjet and copy machines.

1999 was the beginning of a new era: Zweckform and Avery Dennison (USA) announced the creation of a joint venture under the leadership of Avery Dennison. The company became known as Avery Zweckform. After that, Avery Zweckform introduced WCM (World Class Manufacturing) and entered the new millennium with a wide range of innovations: “Create & Print” creative line for private PC users, business cards with “Quick & Clean” system, and photo paper for inkjet printers. In addition, a new program for creating labels – “Design & Print Online” - has appeared, and, in 2007, tear-off labels were created - they allowed to instantly unstick labels from the surface. Currently, all address labels are having this technology.

In early 2009, Avery Zweckform began producing most of its labels from environmental (ecological) and FSC certified base materials. Thanks to environment-friendly production without harmful emissions, resources savings and materials recycling, today Avery Zweckform offers a broad line of "green" production.

Since 2010, Avery Zweckform successfully introduced new product lines to the market: label blocks and adhesive indexes (2011), various labels for small trading business (2012) and the LIVING line for home use (2015).

Since 2013, Avery’s office products division has been part of CCL Canadian Company. In 2015, department in St. Petersburg started producing part of the products line using equipment from Germany; materials and technologies were provided and controlled by Avery Zweckform. Local production is ISO certified.

In the Russian market, Avery Zweckform brand is synonymous with the quality of self-adhesive products for any purpose and various audiences. Avery Zweckform offers software solutions for label design, a wide range of self-adhesive labels, labels from the LIVING series, and labels from Europe 100 economical series.
