MERLION will increase the number of IT specialists and developers by 2.5 times

The company has begun to form distributed teams and build a "flexible" office for the headquarters staff.

In 2022, it is planned to increase the number of IT specialists and software developers to 1,000 people, that is, by more than 250%. This is due to the implementation of the company's new IT strategy, which implies a radical change in the architecture of services and development methodologies. The key goals of the changes are creating a flexible and scalable IT infrastructure and multiple reduction in the time-to-market launch of new services and integration projects with partners. The total headcount of Merlion will increase by 30% in 2021.

One of the main tasks under the new IT strategy is the formation of distributed teams in the regions. For example, in 2021, the first regional IT office of MERLION was opened in Bryansk. The emergence of regional teams in the head structure of MERLION and the fact that more than 70% of employees are currently working fully or partially on a remote basis requires significant development of communication and collaboration tools. A digital workplace is being created, aiming to automate internal processes, simplify solutions to everyday tasks, and increase the convenience of employees' interaction within the company using online tools.

During the pandemic, MERLION quickly (within two weeks) switched to a remote work format, and is now preparing to transform the workspace - building a "flexible" office and hybrid teams. A flexible office involves a combination of telecommuting and office work. Open-space with separate zones: for collaboration, meetings, concentration, and creative tasks. Employees will have the opportunity to choose and book a workplace or meeting room online. Usual conditions with a fixed workplace will remain for employees whose functionality does not imply remote work. Teams will become hybrid: while part of the department is working remotely, the other is in the office, and vice versa. Workshops are held in stages with project teams from all divisions of the company to create a space that is as convenient and comfortable as possible for employees. They help refine the concept of a flexible office, taking into account the wishes and peculiarities of the activities of all teams.

Dmitry Vinogradov, CEO of MERLION: "People are the main asset of our company, and we always invest in its development. We successfully passed 2020 thanks to the work of our entire team, well-coordinated actions, efficiency in the new conditions of remote work. Now the company is building a "flexible office" both in terms of infrastructure and business processes, which will ensure the most seamless work process for employees both at home and in the office."
