MERLION Has Become A Huawei Distributor For CCTV

The companies are expanding the fruitful cooperation that began almost ten years ago.

At the end of July, Huawei, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, announced its entrance to the global video surveillance market, its expansion from Russia and its plans to become a leader in this segment in the next 3-5 years. MERLION has become one of the first distributors of Huawei CCTV. The corresponding document entered into force in July 2021, and it is valid until the end of this year with subsequent prolongation.

The MERLION product portfolio already includes video cameras and recorders that are available to partners from Huawei. Four lines of devices are being shipped at the moment. D-line models are a mass-produced item with an open pricing policy and constant availability in the distributor's warehouses. They are made in form factors - cylindrical, dome, "ball in the cup". The C, M and X series are project equipment with higher performance and are used for special tasks. The application areas of Huawei cameras vary from perimeter security and facial recognition at entrances and exits to crowd density detection and traffic analysis.

All Huawei cameras have intelligent features and are available at a competitive price; some models have facial recognition and are equipped with the function of detecting human body temperature with a built-in thermal imaging module. Combination of the service of a company like Huawei and additional services from MERLION's VAD division makes cameras from this manufacturer highly competitive and opens up new opportunities for partners to develop their business.

In conclusion, it should be noted that the acquisition of Huawei distribution in the CCTV direction by MERLION is another and important step in the development of nearly 10 years of cooperation in different areas. The companies signed their first distribution agreement in February 2012 (with the Device division); in July 2013, MERLION began supplying Huawei Enterprise products to the Russian market; in 2016, cooperation was expanded in the security systems category. In October 2020, the parties signed a strategic cooperation memorandum, which focused on the development of network solutions, storage systems and data centers. In July 2021, Huawei Consumer Business Group announced the expansion of sales channels, introducing a specialized model range focused on corporate customers, and this new business area in Russia is being developed in partnership with MERLION.
