MERLION – «The authorized distributor of Acer LCD TV-sets»

From the beginning of 2011 MERLION acquires the right to sell and promote Acer LCD TV-sets within the territory of the Russian Federation.

The authorized distributor of Acer LCD TV-setsMERLION and Acer companies executed an agreement granting MERLION Co. the status of «the authorized distributor of Acer LCD TV-sets». According to the given agreement MERLION acquires the right to sell and promote Acer LCD TV-sets within the territory of the RF from the beginning of 2011.

Acer Co. has been developing the LCD TV-sets trend in Russia since November, 2008, focusing mainly on smaller display diagonals from 19 to 23 inches following the concept of “the second TV-set in the house”. But in the end of this year the company presented a new line of thin LED TVs designed by Pininfarina of 20 to 42 inches.

Business development manager for Acer LCD TV-sets in Russia Alexey Boudnikov emphasized that one of the company’s priorities for the neat year is launching of local TV-sets assembly line in Russia under the Acer trademark and also significant diversification of the product by offering new models manufactured on the basis of LED and CCFL technologies.

MERLION Co. notes that Acer is the most promising brand entering the Russian TV market recently and having a selection of models of 20 and 23 inches that are rare in the market but popular among the consumers.

MERLION is planning to start the delivery of Acer LCD TV-sets in February, 2011. The distributor’s selection of eight TV models will appear in the first quarter, tentative orders for those will be accepted as early as January.
