MERLION and ESET announced signing of distribution contract

MERLION has become the official distributor of ESET in Russia and several CIS countries. The contract signed by both companies covers the whole line of the vendor’s products – from home to corporate solutions.

ESET MERLION continues to expand its presence in the Russian market of software supplies. This line has been defined by the company’s management as one of the strategic prospects of distribution business development. The greatest attention is paid to information security solutions. This segment has shown sustainable development during the crisis and continues to develop actively.

“ We consider the signing of a distribution contract with ESET to be very meaningful for us”, comments Anton Lukyanov, MERLION’s Purchasing Director. “ The manufacturer ’ s products enjoy well - deserved popularity among end users and our partners. We expect to significantly increase our sales of antivirus products by including ESET solutions in our product portfolio.”

The distributor plans to develop not only the sales of ESET home products, but also its corporate solutions. In this segment, MERLION also envisages great prospects for the business information security solution with its ideal price-functional-reliability balance. Over the past year, MERLION doubled its network of system integrator partners and plans to promote ESET products in its growing project distribution channel.

“ ESET expects to significantly increase its sales in Russia and in the region due to its new distribution contract ", comments Denis Matveyev, head of ESET’s Russian representative office. “ First of all , we liked MERLION’s plans to develop the sales of our products specifically to new partners. It was important for us that the new contract should increase our share in the Russian market of antiviruses and information security solutions. We were impressed by our new distributor’s ambitious plans of expansion into regions, extension of its business both in the retail and corporate segments. We expect our partnership to materially increase the business of both companies”.

In addition to Russia, the signed contract covers Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. This wide geography fully conforms to geographic expansion plans of MERLION, which is developing its partner network all over the CIS market.

Based on the 2012 results, MERLION plans to bring its share of ESET product supplies to the Russian market to 15% at least. First of all, this will be achieved by encouraging new partners to purchase the vendor’s products, which allows ESET to expect the appropriate increase of its business in Russia due to the new distributor.
