The largest Russian distributor of computer and digital equipment became a supplier of photo accessories by the Japanese manufacturer Kenko in Russia.
The largest Russian distributor of computer and digital equipment, MERLION, and the largest Japanese manufacturer of photo accessories, Kenko (www.kenko-tokina.ru), have signed a distribution agreement. The agreement assigned MERLION the status of ‘Kenko’s Official Distributor in Russia’. The agreement has been signed for an unlimited time and is already in effect. Currently, MERLION is the only distributor of the following accessories by Kenko in Russia: color filters, converters, macro rings, tripods, etc.
MERLION sees great prospects for the above cooperation. ‘Holding 70% of the Japanese market of photo and video accessories, Kenko is an absolute leader in the most progressive country with regard to electronics. No doubt, the above results are solely due to the top quality of their products. We are confident that our cooperation will be successful. Cooperation between MERLION and Kenko began in 2012. Following the signing of the distribution agreement, the companies plan to take joint efforts in adapting to the Russian market the Kenko products, which are widely represented in Japan but used to be unavailable to the Russian consumers until now. In the near future, the parties will announce the launch of several new products on the RF market. For instance, they have prepared a line of tripods designed especially for Russia, taking into account the local market peculiarities, with the first products of this vendor expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2013.
