MERLION started supplies of network-attached storages (NAS) and Buffalo Technology wireless devices to the Russian market.
MERLION and Buffalo, the world’s leading manufacturer of wireless network solutions and data storage devices, announced signing partnership agreement, under which MERLION is entitled to sell Buffalo products on the whole territory of Russia and in Kazakhstan. The supplies started in the middle of August, 2013.
“The importance of cooperation with MERLION for development of our business in Russia can scarcely be overestimated. Intensification of work with regions is especially important for us. MERLION is the largest distributor in Russia with network of partners numbering more than 8000 companies in Russia and CIS countries. Owing to this cooperation we count upon maximizing our presence even in the most remote regions. Besides, this company dominates in all segments, where Buffalo products are presented. Availability of retail network and resellers in B2B sector at distributor’s disposal is also of great importance for us. This will help us significantly expand sales of both corporate solutions and end-user oriented devices”, states Masashi Makino, Head of Representative Office of Buffalo in CIS.
For MERLION, in its turn, start of cooperation implies the opportunity for expansion of portfolio of data storage systems and network equipment oriented at SMB market by involving one of the key players to this market.
“Contract with such a prominent international vendor as Buffalo is of great interest for both parties”, comments Anton Lukyanov, Director for VAD Distribution, MERLION. “We see this as a significant stage of our product portfolio expansion and the opportunity for bringing one of the most competitive product lines in the sector of NAS and network equipment into our channel. Of no small importance is the orientation of these products at SMB market, which is currently in active development. As for Buffalo, access to our channel will undoubtedly provide development of the brand on the Russian market.”
According to the estimates of both parties, the most popular corporate solutions of Buffalo will be NAS series Buffalo TeraStation, especially product line TeraStation 5000 and TeraStation with Windows Storage Server 2012. In retail sector, the companies stake on wireless routers the demand of which in Russia is rapidly growing. The devices will be represented by series AirStation with the unique AOSS™ (AirStation One-Touch Secure System) technology enabling users operate secure wireless networks at home or at office with the click of a button. This estimate wholly conforms to the policy of Buffalo announced in April, 2013. Moreover, Multi Media NAS LinkStation for home and professional gigabit multiplexers will be delivered to the MERLION warehouse soon.
