MERLION plans to increase its market share in the video control systems segment.

MERLION has announced its plans in respect of development of its business in the video control systems segment. After a thoroughly carried out analysis of the market, the company’s specialists have come to a conclusion that this segment actively grows and develops, a number of suppliers, both foreign and local, increases, annual turnover of the market increases, new manufacturers appear and the client base actively grows.

«According to our data, the CCTV market, including solutions for video control, grows by 30-35% per year on average, − shared this information Anton Lukianov, Distribution Director of VAD Division in MERLION. – In 2012, it amounted to approximately 300 million US dollars.

Even now MERLION is one of the leaders in distribution of the whole range of video control systems, including IP-video cameras, video capture circuits and software. By the end of this year the company plans to expand the product portfolio with new brands and to become an absolute leader in the sphere of video control systems supply in the Russian Federation among the non-specialized distributors.

According to Anton Lukianov’s opinion, “Several years ago the video control systems segment was extremely narrow and was operating according to the particular historically created traditions. All equipment was supplied and used only by security companies and agencies. Everything is changing now; the market is transforming and expanding. The video control systems become in demand among a much wider audience then before. It refers not only to installation of individual surveillance cameras purposed to secure property, but to more serious, complex integration solutions. Companies install such systems in their common engineering infrastructure more frequently”.

Nowadays, MERLION has three valid distribution contracts, under which the company shall supply the Russian Federation market with video control systems (Panasonic, D-LINK, HIKVISION). Note that the last of them was signed between MERLION and HIKVISION at the beginning of July 2013. In accordance with the official agreement, MERLION has started to supply the equipment with a world-known brand as well as under the Value Added Distribution strategy (distribution of solutions with additional services such as: consulting, logistics, engineering and construction of the engineering infrastructure, after-sale service, etc.).

The Regional Director of HIKVISION for Russia and CIS, Anton Kurako, pointed out: “For the last several years the CCTV market and, particularly, the video control segment has significantly changed. The technological breakthrough took place, owing to which the flow was changed from the analog systems to the digital ones. IP-video surveillance systems are constantly improving, are becoming more available and the area of their application is constantly expanding”.
