The MERLION and Samsung Techwin companies have signed a Distribution agreement, according to which MERLION starts to supply security and video monitoring systems of this Korean manufacturer.
The largest Russian distributor, MERLION, and the Samsung Electronics Corporation extend their cooperation, started more than 10 years ago*. Today the companies inform about the signing of a new Distribution agreement, according to which MERLION as the official distributor starts to supply to the Russian market Samsung Techwin security and video monitoring systems (http://samsungsecurity.com).
The open-ended agreement has already come to effect and covers the whole solution spectrum of the vendor in this segment: standard designed surveillance cameras, vandal-proof cameras, dome cameras, cameras with integrated ZOOM object lenses, speed dome cameras, digital video recorders (DVR), video monitors, object lenses, equipment for IP video monitoring, access monitoring and control systems, control panels, temperature-proof housings and support brackets. The partners, purchasing Samsung products from the official distributor, are entitled to make use of complex services, which MERLION provides within the Value Added Distribution range (solution distribution with additional services). For instance, the Technical centre MERLION Engineering is at the disposal of the partners.
The Russian market of security and video monitoring systems (CCTV) is developing very active now – according to the data of analysis agencies it grows at an average of 30-35% per year. The Samsung Techwin company came to this market in 1998 and today is one of the largest manufacturers. According to Alexei Vasin, the Business Development Manager of Samsung Techwin, “as every other company, Samsung Techwin plans first of all to expand the market share, and we are convinced, that the cooperation with MERLION will help us therein”.
By selecting the applicants for the official distributor, the Samsung Techwin representative office in Russia relies upon a number of criteria. These should be companies, which have already proved to be successful on the CCTV market, which have good storage and logistics possibilities, have an adjusted dealer channel and work with integrators. MERLION conforms to all requirements of the vendor in full scope and intends to consolidate its leading position in the area of supplying video monitoring systems into the Russian Federation among unspecialized distributors (whereof announced in the press release “MERLION has fixed eyes on the CCTV market”).

The Company already supplies successfully video monitoring systems of such manufacturers as HIKVISION, Panasonic, D-LINK to the market of the Russian Federation.
