MERLION and “Tricolor TV” have signed Distribution agreement

MERLION, the leading Russian distributor of computer and digital devices, and the largest distributor of equipment for the reception of satellite television channels of “Tricolor TV” (www.tricolor.tv), OOO “Sputnik Trade” have signed a Long-term cooperation agreement. The Agreement gives MERLION the right for selling on the territory of Russia equipment sets for the satellite television “Tricolor TV”. The Agreement came into effect in October 2013.

The expansion of influence of these companies on the territory of the Russian Federation is planned within this cooperation. Experts of the companies expect a general sale increase according to the results of this union.

“Tricolor TV” is the largest Russian operator of digital television. The company conducts its activities from December 2005, providing digital broadcasting of television channels on the European part of the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as on the territory of the Siberian, Ural and a part of the Far Eastern district. “Tricolor TV” has a leading position in the amount of subscribers in Russia and is ranked third in Europe. As of 10th of August 2013 the subscriber number of the digital television “Tricolor TV” amounts 13 million subscribers, whereas 9,6 million are active subscribers (74%), including 2 million subscribers of the first HD multiplex “Tricolor TV”.

MERLION believes, that this cooperation will lead to the increase of demand for reception sets of digital television “Tricolor TV” as on the part of partners, as well as on the part of end-buyers.

The “Sputnik Trade” company also positively qualifies the cooperation with one of the leading distributors in Russia, considering MERLION as a perspective official partner.

The first set line of “Tricolor TV” has already arrived to the warehouse of MERLION. The equipment set includes all necessary for independent installation: television satellite antenna with fittings and support, satellite converter, digital satellite receiver, radio frequency cross bonding cable, cable connector, smart card (“Maximum HD” package provides the possibility to watch SD and HD television channels for 1 year without additional charge), manual and agreement. The receiver, included into the set, is easy to use. The “Maximum HD” enables the subscriber to watch during a year more than 160 TV channels of “Tricolor TV”, including more than 25 channels in high definition, as well as 18 television channels with an improved image quality. The subscribers have also the possibility to order additional services.

Within the cooperation, MERLION intends to organize promotional events for partners and to fulfill the promotion program for the reception of the satellite TV signal.
