MERLION enters Top distributor 2014 according to the @ASTERA Business Information Channel The @ASTERA Business Information Channel summarized the results of its Top Distributors annual research. From September 29 to December 31, 2014, ASTERA Research Department conducted a poll “Top Distributors 2014”, which main objective was to determine the position of distribution companies working on the Russian information technology market.

MERLION Company, consistently entering top 20 since 2004, has been given the “Best Distributor” title for the eleventh time. In 2014, it entered Top-5 Distributors and was the first among the most frequently mentioned companies.

179 companies were assessed during the study. Companies are rated based on the average score obtained in the poll among the representatives of Russian IT resellers - the companies that are direct customers of distributors. Each of the respondents could assess the performance of any distribution company using a scale of 1 to 10. "The most frequently mentioned companies" report is based on the number of references to the companies by the participants.
"Incredible plummeting of exchange rates most of the sphere depends upon, attempted to knock sideways both distributors, and vendors and end customers. The year turned out to be nerve-wracking for everyone. Companies looking ahead started preparing for the crisis in advance, but probably none of them expected the problem to grow to such extent.
In the year when anti-Russian sanctions touched every citizen, the requirements to distributors have only increased. In the context of the ongoing market consolidation, when the companies are forced to find new ways to optimize their activity, flexibility becomes especially valuable. The partner should rapidly respond to market changes and find the best solution to solve the difficulties that occur. Responsiveness and ability to communicate were required from the distributor. Indeed, everyone wants to stay afloat in a tough economic environment, that is why understanding of the partner’s problems and loyalty to the client have become an advantage for the distribution business. Financial sustainability and logistics infrastructure, efficient inventory planning, as well as dealer network development and maintenance are the aspects that vendors paid attention to," @Astera journalists comment the rating results.
