MERLION, a major Russian full-range distributor actively developing in the VAD area, and TP-LINK, a leading networking products manufacturer, have signed a distribution agreement.

In July 2014, MERLION announced the start of selling TP-LINK products, which became the first step in the companies’ cooperation. The distribution agreement will allow the partners to explore new opportunities for selling network equipment in Russia. The agreement covers the complete range of TP-LINK products including routers, switches, ADSL equipment, wireless solutions, Powerline adapters, and range extenders.

TP-LINK appeared in the Russian market in 2009. Quality products, reasonable pricing policy and efficient development strategy enabled the manufacturer to become the leading player in the market of home wireless networking products at the end of 2013. In November 2014, TP-LINK marked the fifth anniversary of its presence in the Russian market with the Champions of the Russian IT Channel 2014 award. The company’s further plans include searching for new expansion opportunities in the market of Russia.

“For us, the vital qualities of a partner company are its reliability and stability in the market,” says Mikhail Kirichenko, Head of Distribution Department, TP-LINK Russia. “Because we operate throughout Russia, an extensive regional partner network and a large number of own warehouses in the regions of Russia are also important. We expect that this cooperation will expand the sales channel, particularly, in the Russian regions, and it will also help MERLION to enlarge its portfolio of networking products. We aim at providing comprehensive services including logistics, regional availability of the products, customer support and quality marketing. For many years, MERLION has been confirming its status of the leader in the Russian computer market, as is seen from the rankings provided by leading IT media titles, that is why we are confident that the agreement between the two companies will contribute to the development of networking product market and to mutually productive cooperation.”

“When choosing the vendor, we look at the quality and innovativeness of its products, on the one hand, and at the manufacturer’s readiness to develop its business in Russia, on the other,” says Julia Pechnikova, Head of VAD Business Development, MERLION. “TP-LINK solutions are competitive in terms of both price and functional qualities, so the company’s customer base is constantly growing. TP-LINK products are also popular because of the high level of support provided to the regional partners. For network solutions, this factor is especially important because the stable operation of an IT infrastructure requires close interaction with both the vendor and the manufacturer. We are sure that, through our cooperative effort, we will succeed in making TP-LINK brand popular on the broad territory covered by our channel.”
