It opens the way for distribution of Russian-developed and manufactured servers and high-performance modular complexes.

The Russian manufacturer of server equipment Rikor IT and MERLION, the country’s premier broadline IT distributor and one of the leading VAD-distributor, became partners. MERLION will promote on the Russian market IT equipment developed and manufactured entirely in Russia – servers and high-performance modular complexes.

“We are glad to be working with one of the largest Russian distributors, MERLION, towards expanding the market niche of advanced, imports-independent, domestic IT equipment,” said Boris Ivanov, Rikor Holding’s Vice President. “We have no doubt that MERLION’s expertise will promote our products to a good place on the competitive and promising market of data storage solutions, servers and telecommunications equipment.”

Among other things, the agreement is for manufacturing orders with Rikor Holding – for ARM-based servers Rikor EcoServer, Intel-based servers and high-performance modular complexes 100%-adopted to Russian informational security demands.

“Now that the Russian radioelectronic industry has an imports replacement priority, demand from public and private buyers for state-of-the-art IT equipment made within the country will only grow,” thinks Julia Pechnikova, MERLION’s Director for VAD Business Development. “Bringing new solutions to market is always difficult, but we as a VAD distributor give every kind of support to projects of our integrator partners.”

Rikor EcoServer is a new server class with ARM processor architecture. The servers were created for handling cloud and e-mail services, parallel computing, electronic document workflows, e-commerce, distributed databases and virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI). EcoServer’s main advantage is low cost of ownership. Using them cuts power costs by a factor of 10 and make DPC space 9 times more effective.

Servers based on Intel Atom and Intel Xeon E5 processors should be interesting to large DPC and telecom companies.

The high-performance modular complex VMC-14 consists of five main modules: server, data storage, software, monitoring, management and anlytics, network subsystem.

VMC-14 is suitable for almost any workload, providing the highest density and computing power per stack in the industry, supporting high-availability web services, dedicated hosting, private cloud and environments with high degree of physical virtualization. The solution’s architecture is very simple for an easy deployment of an infrastructure to be integrated, adapted to specific tasks and effectively managed.

Target audience for these devices includes government agencies, state corporations, arms manufacturers, telecom, banks and the energy sector.
