MERLION, the largest Russian wide-range distributor and one of the leaders in VAD-distribution market, signed a contract with VMware, the world leader in the sphere of cloud infrastructure and corporate mobility, on accession to VMware vCloud Air Network program.
VMware vCloud Air Network Program, earlier called VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP), was developed for the partners ready to render services to its clients on the basis of VMware program solutions, and is the world’s largest network of available cloud services on the basis of VMware technologies. One can provide such services within the program without buying, but renting the software from the aggregator. vCloud Air Network Program is oriented towards a wide range of partners, including system integrators, operators of data processing centers, telecommunications companies, as well as providers of cloud services and startups.
VMware vCloud Air Network Program was launched in 2014 and rested upon the ecosystem of 3,800 partners — service-providers, working in more than 100 countries. The model implemented by VMware produced a strong effect on the world’s and Russian markets. According to the data of Gartner’s analysts, at present four of five world leading suppliers promoting the service of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) use the rent scheme in their work.
In Russia the markets of data processing centers and cloud services began to develop actively a bit later than in the USA and Europe, but now gain momentum actively. Hereby already not new data processing and storage centers, but new schemes of supply of solutions offered by the developers became the basic growth drivers. The rent model reduces the partners’ expenses considerably, allows them to scale their business quicker, to expand or to cut the volume of the services rendered in accordance with the market requirements.
