MERLION has gone up eight points for the last year in the rating, having demonstrated growth rate of almost 33%.
«Kommersant» newspaper published the 21st rating of «Largest companies of Russia by the scope of sales» (RAEX 600), prepared for «Ъ» by RAEX Agency («Expert RA»). As the newspaper points out the rating shows transition of large business to the phase of full-scale crisis. The level of the investment activity dropped to the lowest point for the last decade. The agroindustrial complex became the only segment of the rating that entered the growth phase. The highest dynamics and efficiency are demonstrated by private companies.
MERLION has been present in the rating for ten years now (from 2005), this time it has gone up eight points and ranked No 52, having shown the growth rate of almost 33%.
Within the frames of rating the authors also presented top-10 branche-wise, where MERLION ranks No 3 in the «Largest companies in wholesale trade».
«The current rating of the largest companies of Russia is the most representative one of all the previous: the number of its participants has gone up from 400 to 600. The reasons, which induced us to expand the list seriously for the second time for over than twenty years’ history (mind you, that up to 2004 the rating included 200 industrial leaders, and for the last 10 years – 400 largest companies of all branches of the economy), are evident», - «Ъ» notes. – For the last decade the price of the «entrance ticket» to the club of Russian leading corporations has grown by 6.4 times (proceeds of the company, which ranked 400th in the rating last year, amounted to 577 million dollars against 90 million dollars in 2004), a bit outstripping the dynamics of growth of the dollar equivalent of the nominal GDP of Russia, which has grown by 4.8 times. So, a new, rather weighty layer of companies formed gradually beyond the rating, which can refer themselves to large business, both by the scale of their activity, and by their role in branches by right. The time came to include them in the rating. As a result in 2014 the total proceeds of the companies from the list of RAEX-600 (from this year the rating will come under this brand) reached 60 trillion rubles or 1,6 trillion dollars (chart with dynamics from 1995 – schedule 1), making 85.6% towards of GDP».
