In September, the monitors market rate of growth declined

According to the data from ITResearch analytics company, in September 2016 about 240 thousand monitors were sold on the Russian market to the amount of $39.7 million. Annual rate of growth therewith was about 16% (compared to September 2015).

Impact of tenders has increased on the monitors market

According to ITResearch analytics company, on the Russian monitors market after a protracted fall over several years the long-awaited upward and fairly sustainable correction occurred in the first half of 2016. Compared to the same period of the last year the increase was 14% in units and only 2% in value (due to reduction of the weighted average cost). <...> The main technological trend is a sharp growth in sales of devices with resolution higher than Full HD (by about 50%). And although their share in volume is yet estimated in a few percent, in value it is already approaching 10%.

On the smartphones market the 5-inches diagonal dominates

According to data of smartphone products offering monitoring conducted by ITResearch analytics company about 2500 models are represented on the Russian market, and this number is quite stable. Therewith, the models of wide range of typical sizes are presented, up to about 6.8 inches, where smartphones already directly intersect with tablets. However, there are nine basic typical sizes – with the diagonal of 3.5 to 6 inches. Among them, there is a distinct leader – 5 inches. With that screen at the end of September there were more than 30% of smartphones equipped of all presented on the market, besides, there is a defined trend to growth. In whole, there is a trend to growth in all big diagonals and reduction in share of typical sizes of less than 5 inches.

Russian companies strengthen positions on the tablets market

ITResearch analytics company announced the results for the first half of 2016 on the Russian market of tablets. In total for this period 2.18 million tablets were shipped to Russia for amount of about 24 billion rubles. Compared to the same period of last year the market has grown by 1.6% in units, and in value by more than 20% in rubles. One of the main market trends is the increased competition with phablets which began to displace the smallest 7-inch tablets.

The Russian laptops market has grown sharply

According to data of ITResearch analytics company, in August the Russian laptops market has shown an impressive growth. Sales for the first time during the year have exceeded the mark of 300 thousand units and reached 354 thousand. This is almost two times more than in July. Thus, the period of apparently slack summer months was overcome. Annual dynamics has recovered from dive and has gone into positive area: growth by 0.9% compared to August 2015.

The rate of decline of the Russian projectors market decreased

ITResearch analytics company announced the results for the first half of 2016 on the Russian projectors market. Unfortunately, the decline continued, though not with such slumping pace as in 2015. In total there were sold slightly more than 31 thousand projectors amounting to  $31.5 million. The decrease compared to the same period of the last year was about 11% both in volume and in value. Therewith, both quarters were rather weak, although still with a certain trend towards improvement.

Russian UPS market grew by 10%

ITResearch analytics company announced the results for the first half of 2016 on the Russian UPS market. Sales results (439 thousand units for the total amount of $119 million) show some recovery of UPS market. Compared to the same period of 2015 the market grew by 12% in volume and by 10% in value, while the year earlier it fell by 40%. Within the first half of 2016 the situation with sales was quite uneven, therewith, which is not typical, in the second quarter the UPS market has increased compared to the first one approximately by 32% in units and y 19% in value. This increase according to ITResearch representatives was largely associated with a fairly large tender for supply of popular interactive devices, which was won by Powercom.

In total, on the Russian UPS market more than 20 manufacturers are actively working now. Despite the crisis this list has not been reducing, and even growing.

Document scanners are being sold much better than flatbed ones

In contrast to the situation on the Russian market of flatbed scanners, which continues to lose its customers, the opposite trend is observed in the segment of document scanners. Here, the sales in the first half of 2016 compared to the same period last year increased by half, reaching 13.4 thousand units. Such a market rise was promoted, according to ITResearch experts, by resumption of major competitive supplies in the corporate sector, which were almost absent in the last year. A sales growth was recorded in all speed ranges of the devices, and if in the initial segment (up to 30 ppm) it was minimal, only about 1%, the rates of increase in sales for workgroup models (31-60 ppm) and sheetfed scanners (over 60 ppm) were double-digit.

60% of dashboard shipments fell on Samsung

ITResearch analytics company announced the results for the first half of 2016 on the Russian market of dashboards. In total for this period there were 12.76 thousand professional boards (LFD) sold to the amount of $35.5 million, that turned out to be 2-3% better than indexes of the same period of 2015. Structurally, the year quarters were markedly different. In the first quarter there was a very significant (approximately 18%) growth in weighted average cost of boards, which was partly associated with the increase in sales share of expensive big diagonal boards, as well as frameless solutions for video walls. In the second quarter, it is worth noting the increase of sales share of cheap boards with diagonal of 32 inches, as well as some decline in the segment of frameless solutions for video walls. In the first half of 2016 there was a substantial growth in the number of LFD market players. The number of brands exceeded 30 having increased during the year by almost a half, although the sales of overwhelming number of these companies are insignificant.
