MERLION, Russia’s largest broadline distributor announced distribution of STARWIND household appliances.
Today, MERLION, who entered the household appliance market late in 2009, is, according to estimations of its in-house analytical services, the leading distributor of household appliances in Russia and the CIS member states. The company sees a great potential for development of the new brand in Russia, where a trend can now be clearly observed for consumer demand to be shifting towards more affordable solutions. ”The current economic situation opens good prospects for inexpensive high quality products, such as those of STARWIND, Konstantin Dessler, the distribution director for the “Household appliances and electronics” division of MERLIN, says. – We are seriously aimed at the segment of B-brands, and believe that the new brand can be a strong market player, on a par with Polaris, Redmond, Supra, Scarlett, Vitek”.
The company offers to Russian consumers a broad range of STARWIND smaller household appliances covering, in all, over 100 items including those designed for kitchen (kettles, blenders, mixers, toasters) and self-care (scales, hairdryers, air humidifiers, etc.).
All the products are manufactured in China at factories having a successful record of long-standing partnership with both local Russian and internationally renowned producers of household appliances. Models are developed by the company’s own R&D center. Before being released to production, every single batch of devices undergoes a thorough multi-staged testing procedure, with independent highly qualified product quality control experts involved in factory tests. Some particular appliances (e.g., microwave ovens) are assembled in Russia.
All the STARWIND equipment is characterized by ergonomic design, advanced hi-tech materials, high quality of manufacture and affordable prices. An important advantage is localization of products: most of the appliances have controls accompanied with inscriptions in the Russian language.
