Russian PC market moves toward growth

The analytical company ITResearch announced the results for the Russian computer market in 2016. A total of 5,384,000 computers were sold in Russia in a year (desktop PCs, including monoblocks and laptops). In volume, the market grew by 1% in comparison with 2015. This suggests that a continued 3-year decline in the PC sector came to end, and the market gradually enters the recovery phase. Before, PC sales declined by tens of percent per year for three seasons from 2013 to 2015. There were 2.16 million desktops sold. The segment grew by 7.5%, due to the increase in sales of standard system units. On the contrary, monoblocks, which were 266 thousand units sold, decreased in volume by 10.7%. The notebook segment decreased in volume by 4% a year with 2,923 thousand pieces shipped.

Russian desktop market is finally up

According to the analytical company ITResearch, the total desktop PCs sales on the Russian market amounted to 2.16 million devices in 2016. A year growth amounted to 7.5% in volume. This gives hope for a change in the negative trend of recent years.

Russian market of projectors catches a bid in January

According to the analytical company ITResearch, the Russian market of projectors sold about 5.7 thousand devices amounted to $5 million in January 2017. Compared to January 2016, the market grew by more than 35%. A comparable positive dynamics was last witnessed in August 2016. While in January 2016 a number of IT industries showed a strong recovery trend in comparison with the failed 2015, the sales of projectors continued to decline. However, in 2017 projectors suddenly showed a strong growth, while the general situation in the related markets was only moderately positive.

Results of 2016 in the LFD market are positive

At the special request of the IT Bestelling editorial board, ITResearch provided preliminary data for 2016 on the Russian market of information panels (LFD, professional displays with a diagonal over 32 inches, computer monitors are not included), and also shared the forecast for 2017. According to the preliminary data, Russia sold 32.8 thousand panels amounting to 97.6 million dollars for the whole 2016. Thus, the market was at the level of 2013.

ITResearch: Upward trend in the Russian UPS/ИБП market is not broken

According to the analytical company ITResearch, the preliminary results for the 2016 Russian UPS/ИБП market are as follows: 1.08 million units amounted to $ 292.6 million. Compared to 2015, the market grew by 4.5% in pieces and by 9,2% in value. The dynamics is not impressive, but it was still positive. Remember, that at the beginning of 2016 it was almost impolitely to talk about the possible market growth against a background of collapse in oil prices. The overall situation was very uneven during the year. For the first quarter, the annual growth was considered to be 17.7%, and in the second quarter it decreased to 7.6%. In the third quarter, the market recovery slowed down which led to the growth in sales by 2%. In the fourth quarter, the market went down by 1.4%. At the same time, there is a steady growth of the infrastructure component, leading to an increase in the average cost of UPS/ИБП.
