The desktop segment keeps gaining momentum. According to the analytical company ITResearch, 590,000 desktops were shipped for Q2 2017. With the annual growth exceeding 25% the Russian market of desktop continues to grow for six quarters successively as the data for the latest periods of time shows an increase in the rates of growth. This growth is based on sales in the corporate IT sector and SMB markets though certain changes are indicated in the segment of home desktop solutions.
0.5 million printers were shipped to Russia for Q2 2017
According to IDC research, the volume of unit sales in the printer market in Russia was reduced by 0.9 % in Q2 2017 while in monetary terms this figure was increased by 16.2 % in comparison to the same period of the previous year. 499877 MFPs, printers and copiers were shipped for the above-mentioned period for $120.27 mln in total. The average unit price was increased by 17.2 % in comparison to Q2 2016 (the growth of this price reached 20.7 % in the previous quarter).

ITResearch: Russian LFD market shows very positive growth rates
According to ITResearch, approximately 8,500 panels (LFD, high-end professional-grade displays larger than 32”, excluding computer monitors) were sold in Russia for Q2 2017. ITResearch indicates growth in scanner market
According to ITResearch, despite the seasonal factor, Q2 2017 has shown better figures in the behavior of scanner market (which faces gradual sales slowdown in recent years) in comparison to the data measured in the beginning of the year. In total, 15,500 devices were sold for this period. This amount of sales is 11 % higher than the same figure for Q1 of this year and only 1 % lower than the figure for the same period in the previous year. Basically, the market demonstrated increased growth rates due to some revival of demand in retail sales observed in Q2, as well as in some other mass segments of IT market. This is indicated by a considerably fast shift of the segment structure to entry-level scanners, sales of which have increased in comparison to Q2 2016 (this is the first time in recent years).
IPS market continues to grow
According to ITResearch, in Q2 2017 approx. 280,000 devices were sold in Russian UPS market for $69.2 mln. These figures are obviously worse than the same figures for Q1. This problem is caused by “overheating” of the market due to large tenders which have increased the amount of sales by 15 % approx. Generally, the segment remains in the positive growth zone although it has returned to the target-oriented range of growth rates for 2017 (+10–15 %) as analysts expect.
Projector market keeps getting back to normal

These figures are higher than the levels reached in Q1 2017 (+15.7 % in kind and 13 % in monetary terms). The market is currently passing the growth stage. Taking into account that major tenders are conducted in the second half of the year, we can expect that actual annual figures will be higher than analysts’ estimates (+10–15%).

Compared to the first three month of the year, the growth is +3.4 % in kind. The annual growth rates reached the record value equal to +39.9 %. The growth for the first half of the year is +27.6 %. Just as the previous year, despite the seasonal factor, absolute unit sales in Q2 were better than those in Q1; this growth in whole was based on sales of laser printers while the segment of deskjet printers was affected by decrease in demand.
