MERLION and Samsung Electronics Corporation, the world leader in manufacture of digital devices for house and office start official cooperation on personal digital audio.
MERLION continues to expand assortment of digital consumer electronics and declares the beginning of official cooperation with Samsung Electronics Corporation on a "Personal audio" project. Distributor agreement of MERLION assumes authorization on whole assortment of personal audio players with flash memory and MP3 players with built-in hard disk of the manufacturer.
Samsung Electronics has 21 models of personal audio players with built-in flash memory. Models differ with presence of a colour display, a memory size - from 256 MB up to 1 GB, an opportunity of playing recordings in different formats: MP3, WMA, ASF, OGG and JPEG - and support of USB 2.0 interface. It also sells 5 models of HDD players with a memory size from 5 up to 20 GB. Models of a series differ with presence of a colour display, an opportunity of playing recordings in different formats: MP3, WMA, WAV, Windows Media Video - and also an opportunity of connection of external USB-devices.
According to Vadim Yarotskiy, deputy director-general of MERLION on strategic planning and marketing, “diversification of digital consumer electronics is one of priority directions of development of MERLION for 2005. The new agreement with Samsung Electronics will allow the company to fully satisfy needs of regional partners for maintenance of consumers with production of this brand".
MERLION plans to carry out some marketing programs on personal audio for Moscow and regional dealers to increase effectiveness of products promotion.
The first consignment of personal audio from Samsung is expected in warehouses of MERLION (MERLION-Citilink, MERLION-Denikin, MERLION-Elsie, MERLION-Lizard, MERLION-Taisu) in the beginning of March.
