Oleg Fomenko Appointed Director of Merlion and Citilink Unified Procurement Department

The combined procurement unit will increase the efficiency of work with suppliers and vendors by consolidating the competencies of the retail and distribution teams.

The procurement department of Citilink, one of the largest chains of electronics and home appliance stores, has become part of the procurement department of Merlion's broadline distribution. Oleg Fomenko became head of the department. Oleg has extensive experience in both the distribution and retail business. He spent six years at Merlion in charge of purchasing telecommunications products. Prior to that, he was in charge of purchasing for large federal B2C companies.

The new appointment and consolidation of procurement are aimed at improving the efficiency of business processes in the holding companies through the exchange of experience between teams with different profiles, so the best practices of both directions will be applied in the work. The contact persons on the part of the retailer and all formal processes remain the same for suppliers and vendors. Retail and distribution purchasing units will jointly promote manufacturers' products sticking to their sales channels (as they did before). Retail promotion of brands remains one of Citilink's key tasks.

“I am confident that Oleg and the procurement team will be able to improve the quality of our interaction with vendors. The entire supply chain will be managed by a single center, which will speed up and simplify business processes, but the priority of different sales channels will remain the same,” said Alexander Lozovsky, General Manager at Citilink.
