In the final article of the IT Channel News cycle, experts answer the questions: "What does 2025 look like for the Russian IT channel? Among the experts interviewed is Evgeny Vasilyev, director of the VAD (Value Added Distribution) division at Merlion.
The biggest challenge in 2024, which affected all commerce, according to Evgeny Vasilyev, was the increase in the key interest rate at the end of the year: "This will now shape the entire IT market landscape in 2025. Next year, we will continue to expand our distribution portfolio and grow the capabilities of Merlion's technical center to offer partners even more opportunities for testing comprehensive solutions and launching pilot projects. The number of IT companies has been actively growing over the past three years. Next year, instead of further growth, we are likely to witness a series of mergers and acquisitions, a consolidation of domestic hardware and software developers, especially in areas with many products. It seems we are heading towards a trend of moving from quantity to quality."
