2024 has been anything but calm for the Russian IT market. What events related to high technologies in the domestic context this year have particularly stood out in the memory of channel participants? Evgeny Vasilyev, Director of Merlion's Value Added Distribution (VAD) division, shared his observations.
According to Vasilyev, the Russian IT market has fully adapted to the new reality. "This year, we actively signed new contracts, including several dozen new distribution deals with IT and computer technology vendors, as well as developers of specialized products for IoT, oil and gas, ecology, and retail sectors. Many new products emerged in the corporate systems segment."
Merlion now has over 200 Russian software and hardware brands in its portfolio. "As the number of cyberattacks increases, we are seeing high demand for virtualization solutions, infrastructure software, and cybersecurity products. On the hardware side, servers, storage, networking equipment, and UPS systems are in demand. It is pleasing to see how Russian vendors are completing in months the journey that usually took years for foreign companies. Many companies have completed the process of localizing production and are now starting to scale and develop."
