Students specializing in “Applied mathematics and computer science” and in “Fundamental computer science and information technologies” will take part in the project.

Perm State University will train specialists for MERLION

Today, Rector of Perm State Univrsity (PSU) Igor Makarikhin and MERLION CEO Dmitry Vinogradov signed a cooperation agreement, in the presence of Governor of Perm Krai Maksim Reshetnikov. “As a result, we are going to conclude agreements for specialized student training. Three-year and four-year students will be able to get extra educational scholarship and to pass practice at the company, and, in the long term, work there. In addition, the university academicians will be supported. I hope all these measures allow to increase the quality and attractiveness of higher education in Perm”, explained Mr. Reshetnikov.

According to Igor Makarikhin, students specializing in “Applied mathematics and computer science” and in “Fundamental computer science and information technologies” will take part in the project. “To start with, we are ready to form groups of students (20?25 persons) for taking part in the project. In the long term, we are ready to train 200 specialists for the company”, stated the rector.

According to the Governor, this is a pilot project. In the future, such agreements may be concluded with “Rostelecom”, “ER-Telecom” and “SWAN”. “Everyone understands that we need to invest in personnel training. We have highly skilled IT staff and we can train them”, pointed out Maksim Reshetnokov.

MERLION was founded in 1992. According to company’s official web site, MERLION is developing distribution segments such as computers, digital equipment and household appliances, stationary, office furniture, corporate gifts, and software.

The company owns a network of “Positronica” electronics stores, “Sitilink” online shop, iRU computer manufacturer, “IT Clinics”, a chain of service centers and “Bureaucrat” brand to produce office furniture, stationary and accessories. The company holds No. 35 in “Forbes”’ TOP?200 largest regional private companies ranking. According to the rankling data, MELION's income totaled 191.8 bln rubles in 2016. The company has a development center in Perm.
