Year of 2017 was very successful for UPS at Russian market

According to preliminary figures of analytical company ITResearch, in 2017 1.3 mln. of UPS were sold in Russia at the amount
of 323 mln. dollars. During the year in volume terms the market grew up by 20.6 %, in money terms – almost by 11 %, being at upper limit of ITResearch forecasted range.

ITResearch: market volume of document scanners grew almost by one fourth 

According to the figures of analytical company ITResearch, in 2017 30 thousand of document scanners were sold at Russian market, being 7 % more than during the previous year, its monetary volume grew almost by one fourth and amounted to 28 mln. dollars. It is significantly better than the situation among flat-bed scanners, where the analysts considered it to be a success that negative growth tend to zero. In addition, the specific feature of document scanners in 2017 was the reduction (in comparison with the previous period) of the number of large corporate and tender supplies, and a major sales gain assured a demand from the consumers of SMB sector.

Year of 2017 turned out to be better than estimated in the relation to LED at Russian market 

According to preliminary figures of analytical company ITResearch, in 2017 43.85 thousand devices were sold at Russian regular market at the amount of 158.6 mln. dollars. In volume terms the market grew up by 33.7 %, in money terms the market grew by more than 60 % due to panels cost, which grew by more than 20 %.

In January the sales of laptops increased by 18 %

According to the figures of analytical company ITResearch, in January 2018 the sales of laptops the Russian market showed the annual growth by 18 %. In volume terms the sales amounted to 205 thousand units. This figure is more than two times less than in December 2017, but it’s within the limits of usual seasonal factor.

Dashboards hit record numbers

According to the figures of analytical company ITResearch during the 4th quarter 2017 in Russia 15.9 thousand panels were sold (LFD, professional display panels with diagonal more than 32 inches, computer monitors are not included). Total amount of sale was 61.5 mln. dollars. Weighted average cost of one unit amounted almost to 3.9 thousand dollars. Annual dynamics is extremely positive (the best figures among all quarters of the year. In comparison with the 4th quarter of 2016 the market grew by 43.5 % in pieces and record-breaking 91 % - in money.

The decrease of printing devices at Russian market stopped

According to the figures of analytical company ITResearch, in 2017 at Russian market 2.2 mln. of printing devices were sold, it is practically the same figure which was in the previous year. In view of this, after 5 years of the constant decrease of the quantity of sold printing devices, in the previous year this dropdown at the market of printers and desktop MFD stopped. It’s notable that this trend was sustainably registered during the whole year. During all 4 quarters the demand for printing devices increased gradually both for mass-market and for corporate consumer, this situation fully corresponds to the overall situation in economics, changing over the period of stagnation to the decrease, though slight.

Leaders in the market of flat-bed scanners lose interest to the segment 

According to the figures of analytical company ITResearch 2017 turned out to be more successful for flat-bed scanners than the previous year. Even though negative trend maintained, it significantly decreased. The total amount of flat-bed scanners sales in the year ended was 70.5 thousand pcs., being only 1.5 % less than in the former year (in 2016 this figure was 14 %). In spite of upward pressure from  alternative methods of digitization, mostly from multifunctional devices, flat-bed devices are still used by the part of home and office users. Financial market volume of flat-bed scanners amounted to 7.2 mln. dollars approximately, being 4 % more than in 2016.
